Great experience!
Jack and Sam were our guides for the full day smaller boat experience. They were awesome! They kept it fun the whole time and gave us as much adventure as we wanted. It was clear that all the guides with the group care about making it a great experience and they seem to have a great camaraderie. I highly recommend!

Great day trip with Jeremy!
Our family had a blast on our full day rafting trip through Browns Canyon! Even with low water our guide Jeremy made the day a blast and definitely a highlight of our trip to Colorado. He shared his knowledge about the beautiful rock formations, the river and the area and did everything he could to make the trip extra special. He also picked a perfect spot for the yummy lunch provided for our trip. We loved visiting Colorado and plan to return and book this trip again!

Da Best Comany
Best rafting company in Colorado, hands down. Byron (owner) has built an incredible operation, and it shows - our guides were knowledgeable, professional, and made the whole experience a blast. They struck the perfect balance between keeping everyone safe and making sure we had an unforgettable time. The rapids were great even at low water, and the energy all day was unmatched. If you’re looking for an adventure with an awesome crew, this is the company to book. We’ll be back. Shout out Sammy, Emu, Emma and Jules.

Go -- the river is flowing high, fast and fun! Epic year!
The day dawned with sunshine, the afternoon was rainy with dramatic skies and light on our raft trip. This was my first raft trip in many years. The Arkansas River flow through Browns Canyon was running 2000 cfs (high flow with spring runoff and rain). The overall experience was fabulous -- FABULOUS! We had an expert raft crew headed by Roscoe and supported by guides-in-training Dahlia and Drew. They gave us recommendations for clothing (wet suits!) and other gear. The water temp was 45F and when they say "no cotton", that's solid advice! There are clothes changing booths a needed. Everyone I met at Browns Canyon Rafting was fun-loving and helpful (ask questions when you have them!). Our guide reviewed the safety issues and we had some time to practice paddle technique. I am not a fast learner and I did not master every paddle stroke, but I felt safe for this adventure. The water flow was high -- and the rapids were exciting! Expect to be wet with lots of splash back! In wet suits, this was a great way to cool off! But mostly, it was exciting!! We say lots of birds in the water (common merganser, dipper) and along the shore (yellow warbler, mountain blue bird, swallow, kingfisher). The spring bloom along the shore was also beautiful! We were able stop on the shore for a stretch and hike -- and another great shore stop for lunch! Our crew assembled a great lunch (self-assembled wraps, chips and cookies) and it certainly was appreciated! Do listen to your guide, do allow your guide to fix your paddle technique as needed (you are learning, not being criticized!), and take the safety information seriously without being frightened. I was briefly outside of the raft on a rapid, but was quickly recovered. Guide instructions were important! I appreciated the patience and care shown by our guide and guides-in-training! I really felt it was an experience of a lifetime! While I want to again in the future, the current water flows are special (likely unique for me)! I did take my cell phone (in a waterproof plastic ziplock style case) and took a few photos, but the professional photos were much better than anything I took -- so consider those afterwards. This is "that occasion" for such photographs. Finally, because of the proverbial Colorado clear mornings and stormy afternoons scenario, I would recommend a raft trip that starts in the morning! Getting rained on is not the end of the world (and we had some rain along the way), but seeing Browns Canyon in the sunshine is superb!

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Buena Vista.
How much does Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Buena Vista usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Buena Vista is not rushed.
Is Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 102 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Buena Vista, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Buena Vista can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Buena Vista and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Browns Canyon Rafting Full Day start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Buena Vista within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Buena Vista?
+
Buena Vista is Colorado's rafting hub: Browns Canyon National Monument trips from mild to class IV, plus hot springs, zip lines, ATV tours and fourteener access. On Outty we rank every Buena Vista experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Browns Canyon Rafting Adventure, Brown's Canyon Half Day, Browns Canyon National Monument Whitewater Rafting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Buena Vista?
+
May to August, with the biggest water in June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Buena Vista?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
