    About this experience

Prior to entering the Canyon Challenge Course, guests are fitted with gear, given a safety briefing and instructions, and then off they go! Guests begin on easy courses and graduate to more challenging routes. Once a course is completed, guests can proceed to more challenging courses. The Canyon Aerial Course was designed and built by Swiss Alpine engineers to industry standards, including those of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) as well as the specifications and safety standards of the state of Colorado. Participants are secured throughout their experience to the life safety systems using the Bornack Smart Safe Belay (SSB) lanyard system which prevents participants from detaching from the system during transfers from one element to the next while providing participants the freedom to choose their route and move at their own pace. Staff are positioned nearby to offer encouragement and assist if needed.

Chalkenge Course Fun for Boys 10-14 and Grandma!

Excellent experience. Guide Autumn was super! Good instructions. Felt safe. Boys 10-14 had a great time. Want to go again. Plenty of time to do several courses.

    Excellent Zipline and Challenge Course

A very well run and safe operation with great guides. We did both the ropes course and the zip lines. Recommend booking the first slots of the day - we had the course to ourselves and our guide. They have drinks and snacks for purchase. I recommend bringing water bottles as you will want it after each of the courses.

Response from the operator: Thanks for joining us and leaving such a glowing review! We truly appreciate awesome guests like you and we're thrilled we could provide an excellent experience for both of your tours!

    Exploring Salida from Above!

Did both the challenge course and zip line yesterday and it was so much fun! Caleb was so personable and offered to walk me through an obstacle I just couldn’t get as I worked my way through the levels of difficulty! Our group of 5 completed various levels and had a great time! We can’t wait to return and tackle other routes! Both Jack and Caleb helped us fly through the mountains and enjoy the scenery on the zip lines! Would definitely recommend these two guys and Captain Zipline for all your adventures!

Response from the operator: Thanks for the shout out to our phenomenal guides and the amazing scenery we get to enjoy on all of tours! We appreciate you taking the time to tell others what an amazing time you had and what an awesome job we do out here! Can't wait to entertain you on your next Colorado adventure!

Canyon Challenge Course: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Buena Vista.

How much does Canyon Challenge Course cost?

    +

Prices start at $84 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Buena Vista usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Canyon Challenge Course take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Buena Vista is not rushed.

Is Canyon Challenge Course worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Buena Vista, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Canyon Challenge Course?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Canyon Challenge Course suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Canyon Challenge Course?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Buena Vista can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Buena Vista and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Canyon Challenge Course start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Buena Vista within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Buena Vista?

    +

Buena Vista is Colorado's rafting hub: Browns Canyon National Monument trips from mild to class IV, plus hot springs, zip lines, ATV tours and fourteener access. On Outty we rank every Buena Vista experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Browns Canyon Rafting Adventure, Brown's Canyon Half Day, Browns Canyon National Monument Whitewater Rafting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Buena Vista?

    +

May to August, with the biggest water in June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Buena Vista?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
