The instructors were...
The instructors were great. They were knowledgeable, ensured that we felt as safe as possible given the dangers of the activities, and made the experience fun. Prior to each activity, the instructors educated us with what we needed to gave a good time while staying safe. My only complaint is with the AVA office (not the instructors/crew members). After calling for assistance, they provided me the incorrect location twice! If you are confused about the location, please call, but ask them to confirm the location with the general manager of your specific location you're attending.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the thoughtful review! We're so glad our instructors helped make your experience fun, informative, and safe. Our guides take great pride in preparing guests for each activity and creating an adventure where everyone feels confident. We also appreciate your feedback about the location information you received from our office team. We understand how important clear directions are, and we'll share your comments internally to help improve the guest experience. Thank you for choosing AVA, and we hope to see you back for another adventure soon!

Amazing Day
I can't imagine having a better experience than we did. The staff at the outpost were friendly and helpful, the guides for the zipline (Jesse and Jess) and rafting (Enrique) were experienced, knowledgeable, and fun. Even though we were new to both activities, we felt safe and laughed all day long. Every member of our family (ages 19-55) gives an absolute two thumbs up to this trip.
Response from the operator: That sounds like the perfect adventure! It’s great to hear that the guides made the experience so enjoyable and safe for everyone, no matter the age range. It’s always a win when you can combine thrill and relaxation with a great team. It seems like you really got the full package with the ziplining and rafting. Do you think you’ll be heading back for another trip, or is there another challenge you’re looking to take on next?

Would recommend BUT make sure you pay attention to the safety video
We didn't do the zipline, only the rafting (1/2 Brown canyon). Water was very high due to high snow level this year so our original rafting trip to the numbers was cancelled. We were promptly notified and offered a refund or another tour. We opted for another tour. There was great communication and the staff at the office were very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend a full long sleeve wet suit with neoprene gloves and socks (they sell the gloves and socks). They provide a sleeveless wetsuit for free. I put that one on over my own. I hate being cold. Make sure you have a sun glass strap (which they also sell) that is securely attached. I lost a $200 pair of sunglasses TOTALLY my fault. I had a strap, but it came off (or I may have yanked it off when we turned over). The water was running Level 3 and 4 when we were there. We had three boats with about 8 people per boat, including the guides. 2 of the three boats flipped over during one of the level 4s. I tell you this because you need to pay attention during the safety presentation. The threat of death is real. Nobody died and nobody had to get medical treatment, but water is can be dangerous and you need to know what to do in case you fall out of the boat (or get trapped under it). IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU! I am glad I had the experience of rafting despite the turn over. Of note, there was nothing that the guide could have done to prevent it. Water is unpredictable. I would HIGHLY recommend this organization. Happy Travels - Misty & Mark
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Misty and Mark! We’re glad to hear that you had a great time despite the change in plans. It sounds like you were well-prepared with the gear and understood the importance of the safety briefing, which is key on a trip like this. The conditions at Level 3 and 4 rapids can definitely be intense, and we appreciate you highlighting the importance of being aware and following safety instructions. We're so glad to hear that everyone stayed safe, and we really appreciate your recommendation. Thanks again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future!

Best rafting experience!!!
This rafting trip was the BEST! The water was high and rapids were wild! JStroke was the best guide, knew everything about the area and was a blast to be on the raft with. We did a LEVEL 3 half day and everyone loved it - 3 kids (19, 17 and 13) and each said it was their favorite experience of our weeklong trip!
Response from the operator: It’s so great to hear that your rafting trip was such a hit! It sounds like JStroke really made the experience special, with his knowledge of the area and fun energy. It’s awesome that your kids had such a great time—what an incredible family adventure! A Level 3 trip is definitely a perfect mix of thrills without being too overwhelming. Thanks so much for sharing your experience, and we’d love to welcome you back for another adventure anytime!

Browns Canyon
We did the half-day Browns Canyon run. Being it was towards the end of the season, we were not honestly expecting much. However, we got lucky with a plenty of water flow to make for a great trip. Our guide, Shawn, was fantastic. Our raft was full of adults, so when we asked him to make our trip as exciting as possible, he did not fail. I would highly recommend AVA to anyone looking for a rafting trip. BTW, the guides made what would ordinarily being a boring bus ride actually enjoyable.
Response from the operator: Browns Canyon in Buena Vista is one of our most popular trips! The dam controlled river guarantees perfect water levels creating an exhilarating experience for all our valued guests. Shawn and the other guides never fail to make an experience informative and fun no matter what.

Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Buena Vista.
How much does Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista cost?
+
Prices start at $205 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Buena Vista usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Buena Vista is not rushed.
Is Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Buena Vista, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Buena Vista can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Buena Vista and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Browns Canyon Half-Day Rafting plus Mountaintop Zipline from Buena Vista start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Buena Vista within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Buena Vista?
+
Buena Vista is Colorado's rafting hub: Browns Canyon National Monument trips from mild to class IV, plus hot springs, zip lines, ATV tours and fourteener access. On Outty we rank every Buena Vista experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Browns Canyon Rafting Adventure, Brown's Canyon Half Day, Browns Canyon National Monument Whitewater Rafting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Buena Vista?
+
May to August, with the biggest water in June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Buena Vista?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
