Terrible 0 Experience
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! The original ad is very misleading. It states you can choose which distilleries you want. You cannot. We tried for 3 months to communicate with them about our preferences. After vast emails and reaching out to Viator to help in getting some communication with the vender, they sent an email to tell us they would provide our itinerary a week before our tour. At this time we tried to get our money back as we felt that it was a scam. They would not refund. Also, the phone m=number associated with this vendor is not in service. We did not receive our itinerary the week before, but rather the night before. And although they scheduled 3 distilleries, they did not book what we had requested. Also, they booked one distillery right in Louisville downtown - that we had already done the day before the tour. Why would we choose a bus tour for an in town experience. We had NO idea about our pick up time or place until 8:20 am the day of tour. When we finally boarded bus, Marjorie, although sweet, was very scattered and terrifying to drive with. She was on her phone texting on the freeways. We did not feel safe at all. This tour company - bourbon experiences- is not reputable. I would not recommend or book with them again.

Get complete information of where you're going before you pay
I didn't find out where we're going to until after I paid and they picked distilleries that I'd already been to they said I could have chosen some but never received any information from them to pick places to go before they set the itinerary. The operator and Ventura both blamed each other for not being able to refund the purchase. And I realized that it did say no refunds available but communication definitely was not clear. They did offer to take me to different distilleries at 8:15 the morning of the trip when I said that once again I'm not going. Communication was horrible blame pushed around and I was out 200 plus dollars.
Response from the operator: Dennis Meyer After you booked the tour, our team contacted you to request your preferred distilleries. You could also contact us by email or communicate with Viator. We did not receive your preferences, so our team moved forward and created your itinerary with Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, and Four Roses. We coordinated the distillery schedules, secured the necessary arrangements, and assigned your vehicle and driver. On the day of the tour, you informed us that you had already visited some of these distilleries and wanted to make last-minute changes. Even on the day of the tour, we tried to accommodate you and offered other distilleries that you could visit instead. You declined those options. We also offered to move your tour to the following day, and you declined that option as well. Our driver went to your hotel at the scheduled pickup time, but you decided not to participate in the tour. You later requested a refund through Viator, and Viator applied the cancellation policy accepted at the time of booking. We made every reasonable effort to help you, including offering alternative distilleries and another tour date. We sincerely regret that you chose not to accept any of those options, but unfortunately, we could not offer anything further after you decided not to participate.

Great day in Bourbon country
We had a great experience. Our tour guide Jorie was great from start to finish and even got to bring us to a fourth spot! No problems with pickup, communication, or timing for all Of our stops. My only recommendation would be to have a cooler to keep the complimentary waters cold, but overall would definitely come back!

Great tour!
This was a great tour. Our bus driver did not speak very good English so communication was an issue. Other than that, it was well worth the $$

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Louisville.
How much does Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other cost?
+
Prices start at $189 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Louisville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Louisville is not rushed.
Is Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 666 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Louisville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other?
+
Around 233 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Louisville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Louisville and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bourbon Tour (03) : Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Other start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Louisville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Louisville?
+
Louisville runs bourbon distillery tours and tastings along the Urban Bourbon Trail, Churchill Downs and Derby Museum visits, Louisville Slugger factory tours and river cruises. On Outty we rank every Louisville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour, ORIGINAL Old Louisville Walking Tour seen in The New York Times!, Secrets of Louisville: 3hr NuLu Food & History Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Louisville?
+
April to June and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Louisville?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
