They take advantage of tourists. Complete fraud
Avoid at all costs. Two minutes after getting off the docks we were boarded by the Turkish coast guard without receiving any explanation by the guide, whose English was too poor to convey any intelligible information. After being detained for one hour and five minutes, the coast guard let us go and we returned to the docks. Several tourists got off the ship (me included) as the time elapsed while being detained by the coast guard meant that most of the cruise would take place under a very dark sky, not during the sunset as promised. Before unboarding I repeatedly asked for confirmation from the staff on deck that I would be issued a refund, and they said that I would. To my surprise, both Viator and the operator refuse to refund me for a service that never took place. To all effects and purposes, I have paid 40 euros to be detained under the sun by the Turkish board guard. I will not go into other details because I did not have time to interact too much or see any of the attractions. Suffice it to say, Turkish tour operators often have a reputation of dishonesty and dishonest, and this is a perfect example of them taking advantage of vulnerable tourists. If you a book a tour don’t do it on this platform. You will be unprotected if any issues arise.
Response from the operator: Dear David, we are sorry the Coast Guard inspection caused such distress. This was a routine maritime safety check — required by Turkish law for all vessels on the Bosphorus — and completely outside our control. We do want to clarify for other travellers: the cruise resumed after the inspection and continued as planned, including the sunset views. Unfortunately, you chose to disembark before we set off again, which we fully respect — but the tour itself was completed in full for the remaining guests.

Enjoying the Boat Ride
Nice boat ride, a bit breezy (not the tours problem). Did not like being dropped off in a different place than we boarded.
Response from the operator: It is stated in the itinerary that the meeting point and endpoint are different places. Therefore, giving us a low star rating ignores the effort of the whole team, it is really sad.

Nice tour
Nice cruise and service. Difficult to find location to checkin. Good snacks served. Beautiful sunset cruise that allowed to see Istanbul in both the daylight and at night with the city lights are on!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your nice comments and likes. However, giving you four stars is ignoring the efforts of the entire team, it is really sad. We would have loved to have received five stars from you.

Disappointed
Unfortunately I was quite disappointed by the experience. The tour is advertised as a tour with an “expert guide” however it seemed the guide knew little about Istanbul, the sights or its history as all that was pointed out was clubs, shops and residential areas. There was a group of at least 14 people and as the guide didn’t have a mic or tannoy, nor was his voice particularly loud, we only heard snippets of the tour as he sat with each group separately. Additionally, the tour was meant to end in Karaköy however we were dropped off at Kabataş Pier and told to make our own way back.
Response from the operator: I'm truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. It's always our goal to provide a comprehensive and insightful tour, and I regret that we fell short in this instance. Your comments about the guide's knowledge, the audio difficulties, and the change in the drop-off point are valuable and will be looked into immediately to improve the experience for future guests. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and are committed to making improvements based on your feedback. Thank you again for sharing, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Amazing views and service without a crowded boat!
Really great experience! Sena our guide was super nice and helpful. Enjoying amazing views from both sides of Istanbul without having to wait in line or struggle to find a good spot on a crowded boat was sooo worth it! I highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great time, and that Sena, our guide, made a positive impact on your tour. We completely agree that enjoying Istanbul's amazing views without the hassle of crowded spots or long waits really makes the experience special. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’re so happy to have been part of your journey!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.
How much does Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.
Is Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 69 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide?
+
Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bosphorus & Golden Horn: Sunset Yacht Cruise with Expert Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Istanbul?
+
On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Istanbul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Istanbul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
