    What you'll see and do

    1. Istanbul

Embark on a cross-continental journey across the Bosporus Strait, from the Sultan’s spice markets of Europe, to the Anatolian ustas and street food of Asia. This is our 14+ tasting Istanbul food adventure across two continents, at the historic city terminal of the old Silk Road and Spice Route.

      15 minutes here

    2. Beneath the 17th-century domes of the Egyptian Bazaar, the air is filled with scent of cured Isot pepper and wild oregano, as we explore the vaulted pantry of Turkish ingredients. At a traditional kebab house, pull up a seat and watch the masters thread hand-minced lamb onto iron skewers, searing over charcoal flames. Pair it with hand-chopped tomato and pepper dip, fresh lavas flatbread and purple turnip juice salgam. At a family-owned eatery from Gaziantep, dip a spoon into a bowl of garlic-spiked beyran lamb soup.

      60 minutes here

    3. Board a vapur ferry, with spectacular views of the ‘Old City’ minaret skyline receding and seagulls trailing, we cross the border to Kadikoy in Asia Minor.

      20 minutes here

    4. Stop at a fresh deli in the heart of the market, presided over by its octogenarian owner for over three decades. His kitchen is serving a mini-feast of Levantine mezze; sun-yellow zucchini flowers and ribbons of sarma grape leaves stuffed with herbed rice, Cretan-style white cheese, and smoky eggplant mash.

      40 minutes here

    5. We keep the momentum going with sumac-dusted fish wrap balık durum, and a handful of midye dolma - plump mussels stuffed with aromatic rice and hit with a citric squeeze of lemon. Beyond these hidden gems, there's more surprises within the 14+ tastings waiting to be discovered in our foodie marathon. Meet two brothers who hold the secret to the perfect cig kofte - raw bulgur patties are kneaded with pomegranate molasses and tucked into crisp lettuce wraps, followed by crispy lahmacun and a frothy ayran beverage.

      60 minutes here

    6. KadIkoy

Visit a legendary institution for the ‘King of Desserts: kunefe. Shredded pastry, soaked in syrup and molten cheese. By the time we hit the pier, you’ll have conquered two continents and 400 years of culinary influence in a single evening. Join our local foodie guide to strip away the tourist veneer and claim your place at the table of the real Istanbul.

    Amazing food and culture tour

Sinan our guide was terrific. He was knowledgeable about food, neighborhoods and answered any questions. The food was plentiful (understatement), authentically Turkish and very, very good. The ferry to the Asian side to eat there as well was a treat too. Come hungry but save room for the Turkish baklava (much better than Greek baklava imho).

Phenomenal food curated by a fun and knowledgeable guide!

We had such an incredible time on our tour with Sinan. We tried a ton of delicious foods and learned a bunch about local landmarks along the way. We came away very full and talking about how we need to do a food tour on every trip we take. I very highly recommend this food tour!

Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.

How much does Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.

Is Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bosphorus Bites Istanbul Food Tour with 14+ Tastings start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Istanbul?

    +

On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Istanbul?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Istanbul?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
