Seamus is the best
Seamus was awesome. Wonderful knowledge and lots of tips to go after the tour. Have an idea for food and was one of the best meals we had in Ireland
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful 5*review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the tour with Seamus and appreciated his knowledge and local tips. It’s especially lovely to hear that his food recommendation led to one of your best meals in Ireland. We hope to welcome you back on another tour soon when in Ireland. Good luck.

Exceptional guide & tour
This was a fantastic tour & NOEL, our guide was one of the best we’ve ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative & very funny & entertaining. The 3 hours we spent with him flew by. The book of Kells is unbelievable-just like it was written yesterday & the long room & all the other stops are well worth seeing. We have done a lot of tours but we agreed that this is one of the best we’ve ever done. I emailed Noel after the tour & he sent photos of our tour and sent recommendations of other places to visit in Dublin. You won’t regret doing this tour!!
Response from the operator: Thank so much for your fantastic top 5*review! We’re thrilled that Noel made the tour so memorable with his knowledge, humour and of course entertaining storytelling. It’s wonderful to hear that the three hours flew by and that the Book of Kell's, the Long Room and the other stops lived up to their expectations. We’ll be delighted to pass your kind words on to Noel. Thank you for recommending us so highly and we hope to welcome you back to Dublin again with the award winning 'City Heritage Tours'

Book of Kells is a must...
Book of Kells is a must see! Incredible experience, great commentary by our guide. The promised Castle was closed which should have been announced prior to the tour and possibly replaced with another option.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words about the Book of Kells and the experience and our guide’s commentary. We are sorry if there was any misunderstanding regarding Dublin Castle. Its temporary closure is explicitly stated in both the tour description and on the ticket before booking. While the State Apartments and Castle interior grounds remain closed, our tour still follows the castle’s exterior route through its historic walls and street views. We look forward to restoring the full interior visit as soon as the Castle reopens in January.

Disappointing Book of Kells Tour
Great guide with a lot of interesting stories. The Book of Kells part of the tour was disappointing, however. There wasn’t enough time and I would have gotten a lot more information if I had just signed up for the audio tour at Trinity College.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re delighted that you enjoyed your guide and the many stories shared throughout the tour. We are sorry, however, that the Book of Kells portion felt rushed and did not meet your expectations. As this is a guided experience covering several important historic sites, the time available at each location must be carefully managed. The Trinity College audio tour is a more specialised, in-depth option for visitors wishing to focus exclusively on the Book of Kells and the Long Room that takes over two hours alone. We have many other great sites to cover in that time window. We appreciate your honest comments and will take them into consideration when reviewing the pacing of our tours.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.
How much does Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.
Is Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 129 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour?
+
Around 45 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 2.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Book of Kells. Dublin Castle exterior. 5* History & Heritage Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+
On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway, Dublin Highlights and Hidden Gems Guided Walking Tour, The Little Museum of Dublin Famous Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
