    Spectacular Blue Mountains

Ben was a fantastic tour leader. He picked us up in inner Sydney on time and was full of information during the tour of the Blue Mountains and a most entertaining host. He took us to many interesting and spectacular sights including restaurants. There were 4 adults (2 from overseas and 2 from Melbourne) and we all agreed that this full day tour was the highlight of our east coast trip. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Hi Michael, Many thanks for your great words and so thrilled to hear this was your highlight. The Blue Mountains has many wonderful vistas and short easy stunning walks. Hope its landscape and flora beauty holds a lifelong memory and hope to take you all out on another great day trip. Regards, Ben

    Ben is the man!!!

Ben was a fantastic guide, hospital and entertaining. Featherdale wildlife park was the best zoo experience we’ve ever had. The interaction with the animals is second to none, even getting to pet a Koala. Ben pointed out and elaborated on nearly all the animals. Scenic World in the Blue Mountains was awe inspiring. My wife loves Cockatoos and Ben summoned a bunch of them around us. My wife was in heaven.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your sensational review Ray and Kay! Australia's animals are very unique and I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed learning about their interesting behaviors and adaptations. Hope to see you both again in the near future. Regards, Ben

    Thoughtful Guide with Flexibility

Expert guide Ben Barry deftly guided me through Australia’s magnificent Blue Mountains. He took me to sights not easily reached by tour buses, such as the breathtakingly beautiful Pool of Siloam. I’m mobility challenged but Ben was prepared with walking sticks, and had adjusted my tour accordingly. Ben has vast knowledge of the Blue Mountains, including its history and people. Beyond the Pool of Siloam, he took me to other sights, including the Three Sisters, Scenic World, a former mining camp, etc. Ben is flexible and not adverse to accommodating personal requests, such as my wanting to visit a nearby pet store to buy a gift. He is personable, punctual, and provided excellent value.

Response from the operator: Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your exceptional words. I had such a great time in some of the most beautiful spots in the Blue Mountains. and it was a pleasure helping out with the shopping for your pet as well. Hope to see you again for another trip off the beaten path. Best regards, Ben

    Great experience- highly recommend!

My mom, Grandma, and I were in Sydney for the marathon this past August. We toured around Sydney with Ben for 1.5 days. We had a great experience! Ben planned great trips and was very knowledgeable about it all. It was so great to have these custom experiences. We were able to beat the crowds at these popular destination due to Ben’s knowledge. We cannot wait to hopefully visit Sydney and explore more with Ben in the future.

Response from the operator: Hi Aly, It was so nice to meet yourself and your lovely mum and grandma on our fun Sydney and Blue Mountains tours. I'm so envious of you completing another 42km. Well done! Hope you can return for another Sydney marathon and be great to take you on a couple of other tours. Many thanks. Ben

Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.

How much does Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder cost?

    +

Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.

Is Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 63 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder?

    +

Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Blue Mountains Wilderness Wonder start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sydney?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sydney?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sydney?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
