Great Wall in one day 10/10
Had a great time if you wanna visit the Greatwall all in one day trip from Shanghai. The traveling was great in the bullet train. Summer our tour guide was amazing, she was extremely helpful. She helped us with my mother who just had spinal surgery a couple of months before our trip. She was able to accommodate her needs and still was able to show is everything we needed to see in a short time.

Shanghai to Beijing Great Wall visit
This was an incredible experience, very well organised by Sunny and our tour guide, Coco was excellent and very helpful. It was complicated to get from our hotel in Shanghai to the Great Wall in Beijing and we could not have planned and done this ourselves, but Sunny organised everything like clockwork and gave instructions for every step of it. Every aspect of the trip was excellent.👍👍

A Wonderful Family-Friendly Tour with Summer
We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Summer. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing China's rich history with us. Her explanations of the different Chinese dynasties and how they were connected to the construction and significance of the Great Wall were both engaging and informative. We learned so much and truly enjoyed every moment of the tour. Beyond her excellent knowledge, Summer took great care of our family throughout the trip. She was attentive, thoughtful, and always willing to help. She also took the initiative to recommend several family-friendly places for us to visit, which made our trip even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was her recommendation and assistance in booking a local Peking duck restaurant. It was less touristy, very reasonably priced, and the food was absolutely delicious—one of the best meals we had during our stay. Thank you, Summer, for making our trip so memorable. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for an informative, enjoyable, and well-cared-for travel experience in China.

Amazing Great Wall Experience, don't miss out!
Although I was hesitant to take this 18 hours tour from Shanghai, I'm so glad I didn't miss out on this amazing Great Wall experience! From the hotel pickup to drop off, everything was perfectly planned. My guide Summer was excellent. She went over some history on the way to the wall and helped me get extra time along the wall by picking up late lunch for the car ride back. Later, she even dropped me off inside the station and helped me order dinner for my train ride. Such a sweet, caring person!!! Highly recommend this tour.

Had an absolutely great...
Had an absolutely great time. Sunny helped navigate and set up the whole experience with ease, and I was paired with my Tour Guide, Helen, who was absolutely fantastic. She aside from being able to structure the tight schedule made sure that it was an enjoyable one and was beyond knowledgeable and kind in sharing so much historical information and facts about Beijing, The Great Wall, and China overall. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and would love to work with them again on a future trip to the Beijing area. So grateful because I definitely would not have been able to coordinate this otherwise without them. Such a wonderful memory.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Shanghai.
How much does Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train cost?
+
Prices start at $416 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Shanghai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Shanghai is not rushed.
Is Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 51 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Shanghai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train?
+
Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Shanghai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Shanghai and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Beijing Great Wall Private Day Tour from Shanghai by Bullet Train start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Shanghai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Shanghai?
+
On Outty we rank every Shanghai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Shanghai Full Day City Tour with Old and New Highlights, Suzhou Private Day Trip from Shanghai with Bullet Train Option, 4-Hour Flexible Private Shanghai City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Shanghai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Shanghai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
