    Good way to visit the...

Good way to visit the area if you don’t have a car. Really enjoyed the cultural experience. Our guide Mary was brilliant and really looked after us. All in all felt the tour was expensive for what it was though.

We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the cultural experience and that Mary made your day so special – she’s truly exceptional at what she does and always goes above and beyond for our guests. We appreciate your feedback regarding the pricing, and it’s a great opportunity for us to highlight what sets ExperienceKart apart. Bay Of Island

The view was amazing, we were down in Phaia and took the ferry over to Rusell, an absolutely fantastic tour. A lot of cultural and nice information. And our lovely guide Mary. Thank you for making our trip so nice.

Response from the operator: Kia ora Börge! Thank you so much for your beautiful message — we’re overjoyed to hear you had such an amazing experience exploring Paihia and Russell with us! That ferry ride is such a special part of the journey — the scenery, the history, the culture — it all comes together in the most memorable way. We're especially delighted to hear that Mary helped make your day so enjoyable. She’s truly passionate about what she does, and your kind words will mean the world to her. It was our absolute pleasure to host you, and we’re so grateful to have been a part of your New Zealand adventure. Day excursion from Aukland

We had a fantastic day Tour with Karthic from our early morning start (6.30am) until our drop off in the evening. He was extremely organized and explained each stage of on advance. WE learned very much more about the area than we would have learned from other guides. He has a wealth of knowledge about New Zealand. In fact as we were going on a cruise leaving from Auckland he asked about the ports we were going to visit and proceeded to give us places we should consider visiting. We travel frequently and Karthic is the engaging, thoughtful and knowledgeable guide we have had over the years. We completely endorse him and highly recommend him to design your itineary. You will be so glad you did. Maureen and Fred

Response from the operator: Kia Ora Maureen and Fred, Thank you very much for your lovely words and leaving us with a wonderful 5 star review. We are very glad that you had an amazing day travelling up to the Bay of Islands and exploring the beautiful Northland regions. We are stoked to hear about your comments and very humbled at the same time. We look forward to hosting you again in NZ and until then, we wish you safe travels.

    Boating around the Islands

I highly recommend this trip to the Bay of Islands with Experience Kart, it was a full day from Auckland but well worth it. Our driver Karthic was very obliging and showed us interesting spots & scenes along the way. It was especially very informative at the treaty grounds. Loved the hole in the rock!

Response from the operator: Kia Ora Janice, Thank you so much for your kind words and taking your time to review your experience travelling with ExperienceKart. We are very pleased you had such a lovely day at the Bay of Islands exploring the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and the Hole In The Rock Dolphin Cruise, both of which are phenomenal to experience! We really enjoyed hosting you and look forward to seeing you on another tour hopefully sometime soon! Best wishes from ExperienceKart!

Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.

How much does Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell cost?

    +

Prices start at $949 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell take?

    +

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.

Is Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bay of Islands Heritage Experience from Auckland incl. Waitangi & Russell start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Auckland?

    +

On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Auckland?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Auckland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
