Unlike large cooking schools, this experience takes place in our home and is intentionally small, personal, and interactive. We don't see our guests as students sitting in a classroom. Nos cocinamos juntos, compartimos historias, intercambiamos consejos de viaje, hablamos de la vida en México y pasamos la noche como amigos alrededor de la misma mesa. Chef Sergio is originally from Yucatán, one of Mexico's most celebrated culinary regions, and loves sharing family recipes, local traditions, and the cultural stories behind the food. Many guests tell us that their favorite part isn't just the cooking, but the conversations, laughter, and genuine connection they experience throughout the evening. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, with friends, or with family, you'll leave with new skills, a full stomach, local recommendations for your trip, and a deeper understanding of Mexican culture through the warmth of a real family home.

Hands-on Mexican Cooking Experience
The duo of Sergio and Maria are a great pair to lead this class. It began with them picking me up at my hotel and driving us to the big mercado to shop for groceries for our feast. While at the mercado we also enjoyed a coffee/tea and had some delicious barbacoa tacos. The cooking took place in their home kitchen. We made a nice range of dishes including quesadillas, Querétaro style enchiladas, tortilla soup, 2 styles of agua chili with fresh seafood and a rice pudding dessert. Along the way, many delicious beverages were consumed as well, prepared by Maria. At the beginning of the class they made a nice presentation about the food we would be preparing and what parts of Mexico the different dishes came from. Conversation throughout the class was easy, interesting and delightful. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who would like to get some hands-on experience with Mexican cuisine.
Response from the operator: Dear Goyo, It meant a lot to us that you chose to come to the city for our class. Having the opportunity to cook, share a meal, and spend time together made the day special for us as well. We truly enjoyed your company and loved hearing about your connection to beautiful Pátzcuaro. Thank you for bringing such warmth and joy to our table. We hope this day creates wonderful memories, and we would be delighted to welcome you back anytime. Best wishes, Sergio & María

MEXICAN Menu experience
Great menu to get an idea of foods around Mexico plus different types of drinks. They were very attentive to anyone with allergies. I also enjoyed the happy connection between Sergio and Maria. They reflected a true interest in providing a Mexican food experience. Really enjoyed the gathering and would highly recommend.

Must do!
Wonderful and amazing experience! Don’t hesitate to do this. Sergio and Maria couldn’t be any nicer and more welcoming and great teachers! I know to cook, but they still taught me cooking techniques and about foods from all over Mexico. We made amazing dishes and had a lot of fun! The trip to the farmers market is one of the highlights of the day. Definitely go and learn and enjoy this amazing taste of Mexico!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the local market visit. For us, the market is where the story of Mexican cuisine truly begins, and we love sharing those colors, ingredients, aromas, and traditions with our guests. We also loved spending the day with you. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion for food made the experience even more enjoyable. It was especially meaningful to share techniques and culinary stories with someone who already loves cooking. Thank you for trusting us with a part of your journey through Mexico. We had so much fun cooking, learning, and sharing a meal together. Guests like you make these experiences unforgettable for us as well. If your travels ever bring you back to Querétaro, please know that you will always be welcome at our table. We would love to cook together again! With gratitude, Sergio & María 🇲🇽❤️🌮🍹
