What you get
About this experience
The study tour is a perfect opportunity for those visitors who wish to get the most of their visit at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, and want to focus on particular sites at the Memorial and receive more detailed information about the camps. The program of a tour in its 6 hour version includes visiting both – Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. A standard tour at the Birkenau camp is extended by visiting objects associated with the mass destruction of the Jews like e.g. the ruins of gas chambers and crematoria IV and V, so-called ‘Kanada’ barracks, the ‘Sauna’ building and Bunker No. 2. You will arrive about half hour before your tour, as there’s about 20-25 minute time required for the security check. Your guided tour will be conducted in a group that consists of maximum 15 visitors. IMPORTANT: You must provide names of all participants as entry tickets are named.

Tomasz picked us up at the hotel at 7.30 as our tour was booked for 9.30. Lovely drive in a comfortable Mercedes with Tomasz chatting to us and providing useful information and facts. This made it a more relaxing experience. He told us what would happen we arrived regarding tickets etc and everything was just as he said. He then met us at lunch time before we transferred to Birkenau and again everything went smoothly. On completion of the tour he was there to collect us within a few minutes which we appreciated as it was very hot. On the drive back to Krakow he again highlighted points of interest and passed on his family’s story. He made the day complete and was thoroughly engaging. We couldn’t fault the service it was outstanding from start to finish.

Great service from beginning to end!
I booked a private transfer from Krakow to Auschwitz-Birkenau for a guided private 6-hour study tour for me and my sister. I received great service from beginning to end. The communication with the owner Rafal was very efficient and friendly. Tomasz, our driver for the day who had great stories to tell, made sure that we arrived on time and assisted us throughout the day when necessary. In short, very professional company with very compassionate people who go out of their way to make sure that you are looked after! Thank you very much!

Peace of Mind
If you are looking for hassle-free transfer services and a reputable tour operator when visiting Kraków, look no further. Prime Tours Kraków is a professional, fully licensed family-run tour company which offers top-notch services. From initial contact and throughout, communication was excellent. Rafal was very responsive, helpful with suggestions, and accommodating (we added a third party a couple of months before our tour with no issues). We used their services on two separate occasions: the Auschwitz Study Tour and the Wieliczka Salt Mine Tour. Tomasz, our driver during the first tour was a joy. Punctual, excellent driving skills, flawless English, affable, engaging, a veritable treasure trove of knowledge. The 3 hours to and from Auschwitz flew by as we touched upon a myriad of subjects. The entire experience was seamless and stress-free. Upon arrival, we were given our tickets on the spot via WhatsApp (tickets had been pre-purchased months ahead. No waiting in line! No surprises! Believe me, there are horror stories of last minute changes and even cancellations with other providers) and proceeded to join a small group led by Evelina, an excellent Museum guide. Tomasz was always there with information, guidance and assistance. Rafal, our Salt Mine host and driver, was kind, patient, polite, professional, informative, and attentive. The trip to the Mine is only a 1/2 hour-drive from the city. Once again, the entry process was a breeze, tickets ready, and we were given information in detail on what to expect and where pick up for our return trip would be. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Wholeheartedly recommend Prime Tours for their services. Thank you Rafal and the team for a memorable experience.

Visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau
Our trip to Krakow was a last-minute decision, and once we were there, we really wanted to take the opportunity to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau. We quickly realized how popular this visit is, as there were no tickets available online anymore. While searching for alternatives, I came across Rafal Slusarek from Prime Tours Krakow and contacted him via WhatsApp (which was very convenient). To my surprise, Rafal replied the very same evening, and by the next day everything was arranged for a visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau just three days later. Rafal organized a private driver, Tomasz, who picked us up at our hotel and did a great job as well. Upon arrival at Auschwitz, we joined a small group for a guided tour with an English-speaking guide. All in all, we were extremely happy that Rafal made it possible for us to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau on such short notice. Everything was very well organized, communication was excellent, and the whole experience went smoothly from start to finish. We can only highly recommend Rafal and Prime Tours Krakow.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your recommendation! We are glad we could help you at the last minute. For all future guests: please do not delay your booking. Usually, due to high demand, organizing an Auschwitz tour even 2 weeks in advance is impossible as tickets sell out quickly. Selecting a private option is worth it, as it gives you the chance to talk with our drivers, who are all engaging people with their knowledge and excellent English. It is a detail that our clients truly appreciate and which adds a lot to the whole experience.

Auschwitz Study Tour (private transport + guided group tour in English with Guaranteed tickets)
I left it late with my booking but Prime Tours booked me an Auschwitz Study Tour (private transport + guided group tour in English with Guaranteed tickets) for myself and my wife . We also booked a further two tours with them. Thomas, our driver picked us up at the Hyatt Place Hotel at 7.30 am in a Mercedes E Class and had us at Auschwitz at around 9.00 am. His English was good and the conversation flowed freely on both journeys. No queuing as Thomas went in and collected the pre -booked tickets. When the first part of the Tour was over, again Thomas made sure we got on the bus to Birkenau and was waiting for us there for the return drive. We paid 1600 ZLT or £325 and it was worth it for the convenience alone. Our Tour was on the 25th September and the weather wasn't great so the comfort of a warm private transfer after a seven hour walking tour was worth its weight in gold. We used Prime Tours to collect us from the Airport and take us back too and this really maximised our time in Krakow. Seeing some of the horror stories on here my wife researched the s**t out of the available tour operators and their licences. We had been to Berlin In May and had booked through a well known website rather than direct- big mistake as they were offering tours that were not available. On the Front Tours, the tour operator in Berlin went above and beyond to rectify mistakes which were not of their making and come highly recommended. Sometimes its worth paying the extra and avoiding unnecessary stress. I cannot recommend Prime Tours highly enough and their boss, Rafal for the excellent communication throughout and putting together a thoroughly enjoyable week at relatively short notice
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! I am delighted that our team made your Auschwitz tour and transfers enjoyable. We truly appreciate you choosing Prime Tours for multiple tours and hope to welcome you back to Krakow soon!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.
How much does Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $289 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.
Is Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Auschwitz - Birkenau Private, 6-hr Study Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krakow?
+
On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krakow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krakow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
