    amazing!

The BEST tour agency. We had issues with a precious tour agency, which cancelled last minute. Then we called Wonderlapland and they found us a spot at the last minute (45 minutes before the tour). Our guide was EXTREMELY outgoing and dedicated. This was one of the best nights we’ve ever had. The place was great and remote, no lights to ruin the view. The aurora was light to medium at first, and on our way back our guide stopped to take pictures with way stronger aurora. Amazing people, amazing experience, I 100% recommend booking with them. 10/10!

    Horrible experience.

Absolute rip off. We booked this with such high hopes, and could not have been more disappointed. The evening was perfect, conditions were great and the aurora was BEAUTIFUL! Unfortunately, the guides had no idea how to operate a camera, so the promise of 'professional' photos is a complete lie. Once we arrived at the viewing destination, one guide gave the other a crash course in how to take the photos as they had never operated a camera before. At the end of the the night we were assured by the photographer that we would receive our images the next day via text. After 48 hours we contacted Wonderlapland who told us that the waiting period would be significantly longer. After two weeks and multiple phone calls we received the images 'as a special favour'. They noted that other tour attendees had not yet received their images, and were were lucky to get them so early. The photos were a waste of time. Shockingly bad. Photos we took ourselves were significantly higher quality. After querying why the images were so blurry and requesting the high-resolution versions, Wonderlapland stated that it was impossible to take clear photos when the people in the photos were moving. I noted that the images that had no people in them were also blurry, at which time they said they would 'look into it' and 'get back to me'. Trying to exercise patience, I have waited a month to follow up, in which case I was told that images are deleted after 2 weeks so we could no longer see them (please refer to my abovementioned timeline to share in my outrage). They also don't issue refunds after 10 days (although they neglected to respond to any correspondence within this time period), so we are left with nothing. I can't describe how disappointed we are with the overall experience, how poorly the images turned out and the treatment since. The only consolation is that the aurora was spectacular that evening, but Wonderlapland cannot take responsibility for that! Don't waste your time. If you're in a group it would be cheaper to hire a car for the night and go out yourselves.

TO BE AVOIDED WITHOUT HESITATION !!!!

The reception was extremely poor, and the agency managers were rude and terribly disorganised. He had forgotten to put petrol in the car, and we were stopped by the police because our guide Miguel was driving too fast. As a result, we were unable to complete our tour and were never reimbursed. Beautiful photos with Northern lights

The best Northern lights tour from Rovaniemi. Guide Miguel took us to a great spot where we saw the northern lights. He also made us professional photos, thanks so much!

THANKS FOR THE ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE

Amazing group of people! We had all our tours last minute cancelled by another company and Miguel helped us re book last minute with Wonder Lapland- we also got engaged under the northern lights which was fantastic! Their prices are much fairer than other companies and they are more intimate versus a bus filled with 50 people where you are just a number. A lot of the bad reviews are less about Wonder Lapland, Miguel, and his team and more to do with people coming to the Arctic Circle not prepared to be in -30 and thinking nature obeys our command.

AURORA PRO short photography expedition: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.

How much does AURORA PRO short photography expedition cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does AURORA PRO short photography expedition take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.

Is AURORA PRO short photography expedition worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule AURORA PRO short photography expedition?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is AURORA PRO short photography expedition suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book AURORA PRO short photography expedition?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does AURORA PRO short photography expedition start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
