Prepare for all day
They were late picking us up, and the description of what was going to happen was totally wrong. We did snorkeling first, then had lunch and then did zip lining and lastly ATV. This is an ALL DAY thing. Not half day like described. We were expecting to be back to the hotel after lunch and instead it was 6pm. We spent about 4 hours in a van. We had a car rented, but they would not allow us to drive on our own. Van pickup is mandatory. There were way too many people in groups and took way too long in between activities. Made for a very long drug out day. The activities themselves were fun, but everyone was in a bad mood by the time we got to do them. Also the people taking pictures made things even slower and more annoying. We also had Spanish and English speaking people in our group so they had to explain everything twice.
Response from the operator: Dear evansH71870G, We sincerely regret that your experience did not reflect the standard of service we strive for. Please accept our heartfelt apology on behalf of the entire team. We have already shared your feedback with the relevant team for a closer review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and offer you the experience you deserve. Sincerely, Customer Service Management.

Great time with Isabell
Isabell was a great tour guide. She was very informative and extremely personable. The best part was the ATVs they were super fun to ride through the jungle. The snorkel experience was very cool. The underwater cave was very cold but the water was crystal clear. The zip line was a lot of fun. Overall it was a great experience I would do it again!

Isabel is the best instructor ever!
Isabel and Julio took us to this excursion!! They rocked it, we had so much fun and they were super helpful and really understanding of everything! They answered all our questions and helped us have the most fun! Ziplining was our favorite but I also loved snorkeling! It was our first time snorkeling Isabel was super helpful with how to get the best out of our experience. 10/10 would do again!

EXTREME ATV SNORKEL
My experience was nothing short of amazing! Isabel was a great tour guide, super friendly, energetic and knowledgeable. We enjoyed snorkeling, the cenote, lunch, ziplining, and the atv ride. Highly recommed and would definitely do again!

Some Good, Some VERY Bad
We had the ATV and Cenote tour. Mid October, 2025. We both absolutely loved the experience (esp. the underground Cenote) but BUYER BEWARE on the ATV part. Cost for tour was reasonable at $ 159.00 USD for two people. Took about 5.5 hours overall. My only disappointment was the "Insurance" hard sell at the beginning of the ATV part. We had already paid the $159 in advance but when we got to the site and began the start of the ATV part, our guide started laying it on very thick about the "optional" liability insurance which would be an extra $ 25.00 USD for the two of us for the 40 minute ride. He did tell us we had medical coverage as part of the package but not vehicle coverage. Then started taking about all the dangers during the ride and quoting us $100 for bumper damage, $800 for a fender, and finally $ 11,000.00 USD if the machine was totalled (yes, that's right, eleven THOUSAND USD). Two things got me, the machine was a used Segway worth about 5 grand USD at most (I confirmed via Google). But the worst part was feeling like you were a "hostage" once onsite. I was angry at this being "dropped" on me. Given, I'm an experienced ATV rider with my own unit at home, I declined the insurance and to be honest the ride was generally smooth. My wife enjoyed it. But during the whole ride I kept on thinking/worrying about something mechanical happening with the ATV that would cause a loss of control. Ruined the ATV ride part for me to be honest....and it's not the $ 25.00 part, it's how they went about it. Either put a banner on the brochure staying optional "liability" insurance is $ 25 USD for two people (and have the tour seller explain what that means upfront before you purchase) or simply include it in the price upfront (or charge $ 169.00 and include it for everyone). As an example, I pay less than $300 USD for the FULL YEAR for full liability on my own ATV (and that includes the medical part) .... where they got $ 25.00 for 40 minutes I have no idea. Felt a bit like they had me over a barrel when they got me onsite. Otherwise the Cenote cave was spectacular and the staff were very friendly .... the insurance part could have been handled much better and this would be a different review....

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 76 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does ATV Extreme and Snorkel Adventure from the Riviera Maya start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
