An excellent walking tour with a great guide!
Because our time in Istanbul was limited, we wanted to spend several hours getting to know the less visited eastern side of the city. Viator's Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour was exactly what we wanted. Our guide, Dogus (pronounced Dozh more or less), was wonderful! She's young, energetic, cheerful and well-informed. It turned out that she's pursuing her doctorate in marine archaeology and guides as a sideline. We wanted a small group tour of up to 5 but, as it turned out, there were only the 2 of us. Dogus picked up us at the hotel and we took the metro under the Bosphorus. Once there, we strolled the waterfront with her as she filled us in on the history of the buildings near the water, making us aware of the different personalities of the neighborhoods we visited. Lunch was included on the tour, so we went to a neighborhood restaurant and were treated to a typical lunch. We walked through markets and visited a confectionary store that had all sorts of temptations. Watching both old and new Istanbul from the ferry was a perfect wrap-up to our visit.

Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskidar and Kadidoy Full Day Tour
This tour is way overpriced for it’s simply a walking tour. Transport by minivan only covers hotel pick & drop off. 95% of time you are on your own by foot, rain or shine.

Comprehensive visit to the Asian side of Istanbul and enthusiastic tour guide!
This tour was a fantastic introduction to the Asian side of Istanbul. As tourists, navigating an unfamiliar environment can be overwhelming, but this experience completely took the stress out of exploring. I loved that we didn’t have to worry about directions or logistics—everything was seamlessly taken care of. Tuncer picked us up directly from our hotel, and his communication throughout the entire process was excellent. Tuncer was incredibly kind and patient, offering insightful explanations on topics we weren’t as familiar with. My boyfriend and I are Armenian and Jewish, and Tuncer not only showed genuine interest in our backgrounds but went above and beyond by personalizing the tour to incorporate aspects of both our cultures. This thoughtful touch made us feel truly seen, valued, and acknowledged. His easygoing, relatable nature made the entire experience so much fun. He was funny, open-minded, full of energy, and always made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. On top of that, he eagerly offered to be our personal photographer whenever there was a chance for a great shot, which made the tour even more memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend Tuncer to anyone looking for a meaningful and personalized experience in Istanbul!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your heartfelt feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that Tuncer made your experience in Istanbul seamless and special. It’s wonderful that his kindness, attention to detail, and personalized approach left such a positive impression on you. We are especially happy that the tour reflected your cultural backgrounds in meaningful ways—it’s these personal touches that truly create unforgettable moments. Your kind words about Tuncer’s humor, energy, and thoughtfulness mean a lot to us, and we’ll be sure to pass along your compliments! Wishing you both more incredible journeys ahead! 🌟

Wonderful tour with Tuncer.
My wife and I spent a memorable entire day with Tuncer, our tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge and provided us with so much historical and interesting information about the entire area. We spent 8 hours with Tuncer and we enjoyed the tour immensely. Would highly recommend the tour especially if you are lucky enough to get Tuncer as your guide. The area was very interesting and we travelled by all methods including train, subway and boat. Lunch was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour as it provides you with an opportunity to learn about the EuraAisa side of Istanbul. We were lucky ti have Tucker to ourselves. It was a wonderful start of our journey prior to boarding our cruise ship from Istanbul.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a memorable day exploring Istanbul with Tuncer. It sounds like you had a fantastic adventure, and we’re glad Tuncer could make it more special with his knowledge and guidance. Wishing you a wonderful journey ahead on your cruise, and we hope to welcome you back to Istanbul in the future! Safe travels! Ada

Nice day, limited sites
Tuncer our guide contacted us prior to tour date to verify pickup location and time. He was prompt on time and place to start tour. It was interesting to use the mass transit systems, like taking the train under the Bosphorus to Asia. Seeing the contrast in cultures from conservative Uskudar versus metroplitan Kadikoy was evident in the clothing, buildings, and displays. In Uskudar, there was an exhibit of the thirty-six sultans of Istanbul from 1200-1600 ad. There were small figurines of each sultan and his wife dressed in garments that they would wear, among other things related to their rule. Help to put people to events, mosques, and palaces that we were immersed being in Europe and Asia. We had a nice lunch at a local Turkish cafe which was part of the trip. Kadikoy was more modern and bustling, very touristy. Rode back on ferry across the Bosphorus then back to hotel. Tuncer was a very warm and exuberant. We were very happy to share our day with him. I would not recommend this tour to others. There are very limited sites to see on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. Could have been much shorter in time. It was relatively expensive though we did not have to pay for tickets, transportation, and food and refreshments. It was better run than Withlocals group.
Response from the operator: Hello dear traveler, Thank you for join our tour and share experience with sincerety. If you will plan to come Istanbul again, we would be glad to invite you to meet and treat coffee or tea. Have a wonderful day!

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.
How much does Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.
Is Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 46 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Asian Side of Istanbul: Uskudar and Kadikoy Full Day Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Istanbul?
+
On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Istanbul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Istanbul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
