About this experience

The Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is popularly also known as Annapurna Sanctuary trek. The journey to its base camp is frequently placed on top of the best trekking routes in the world. This trek passes through gushing waterfalls, ethnic villages, terraced farmlands, lush rhododendron forests, providing one with the picturesque panorama of the mountains. It follows an exquisite river basin called the Annapurna Sanctuary with deep gorges, narrow and dazzling river and glacier valleys. The walk will be a clockwise direction, starting from Nayapul, to Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrung, Deurali, and lastly to the Base Camp. The trail will also take you to the popular Poon Hill. It normally takes 10-12 days to cover this route depending upon the time of the trekker. Because the path mostly goes through the highlands of the region, high altitude might be a challenge. Another challenge might be the slippery nature of the classical route.

AMAZING Trek!

The Oriental Journeys ABC Trek was absolutely incredible and one of the best things I've ever done! Aneel was an incredible guide and made sure that I both stayed safe and had an amazing time. Machhindra and Radhika were also fantastic and helped me out with everything from getting a SIM card to booking additional activities outside of the trek. We were incredibly lucky with the trek and got to see some of the most beautiful views ever. Thanks Oriental Journeys for an amazing trip!

Annapurna Base Camp trek

At the end I realized my dream of finally trekking to Annapurna Base Camp. The experience was epic thanks Oriental Journeys and it's director Machhindra Achary who made his best in order to make this experience a dream come true. My guide was Aneel Mahat, who reveal himself the perfect guide, always very professional and making sure I did not lack of nothing. In a few months I'll be back again to rediscover and explore the Himalayas once more and again i'll be trekking again with Oriental Journeys and Aneel Mahat as my guide. As they say in Nepal: " Come as a guest and go as a friend ".

Response from the operator: We are pleased to know about your best experience travelling with us. We believe a happy customer is a good friend. We are here to serve you always in future.

The booking was easy; the staff answered questions well and were very available for multiple questions. The guide was informed, strong, very experienced and easy to be with (I'd recommend Machindra and his team). The packing list was complete and the training recommendations were right on.The iconic views of Annapurna region were just what we were looking for. Oh and the food on the way was amazing.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pokhara.

How much does Annapurna Base Camp Trek cost?

+

Prices start at $733 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pokhara usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Annapurna Base Camp Trek take?

+

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pokhara is not rushed.

Is Annapurna Base Camp Trek worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pokhara, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Annapurna Base Camp Trek suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 288-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pokhara can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pokhara and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Annapurna Base Camp Trek start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pokhara within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pokhara?

+

On Outty we rank every Pokhara experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ghorepani - Poon Hill Trek 3N-4D, Annapurna Base Camp Trek -8 days, Annapurna Base Camp Treks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pokhara?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pokhara?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
