The teakwood yacht gave Angthong a classic feel

I usually choose speedboats for island trips, but the teakwood yacht made this Angthong cruise feel quite different. The style of the boat appealed to me as much as the marine park itself, and the slower cruising atmosphere matched the relaxed mood my partner and I wanted in Koh Samui. This is not the option I would pick when trying to rush through a checklist. For us, the journey was part of the experience, which made the day feel more distinctive than another standard island outing.

    Amazing Christmas Eve journey

Red Baron is a beautiful ship, and very comfortable. There were less than 30 people in our group, and plenty of space for everyone. The crew took care of everything, we had a delicious breakfast and lunch on board a ship, and many snacks and unlimited soft drinks during the day. The route is amazingly beautiful, the highlight of Anthong park is definitely the viewpoint, it is truly a "no pain, no gain" hike, but absolutely worth it. Snorkeling there, however, is useless, as there are no fish or corals near the beach. On the way back to Samui, we had a 20-minute stop at sea, so we could jump from the ship and swim around.

    A great day out....

We had a lovely experience and could not fault the lovely staff and Captain on board. Unfortunately for us the day on which we were booked to go the weather was really bad with the water very choppy which made the excursions off the boat tricky and removed this enjoyment for us as well as the journey back to Koh Samui as it rained the whole way back along with very choppy waters and winds. In saying this, that was Mother Nature doing her thing and had absolutely nothing to do with the amazing service delivered on board, and amazing staff. They kept on feeding us, which we were not expecting and the food was absolutely divine and there was a constant supply of beverages. Our journey out in the morning was most enjoyable but as the weather came in, it took some of the enjoyment away for us, but that had nothing to do with the excellent service delivered the whole time we were on board. I would not hesitate to do this adventure again, hopefully though next time I would choose better weather!

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Koh Samui?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
