I had an unforgettable experience exploring the slave river and castles in Ghana with Ben, an amazing tour guide. He shared important historical information in a thoughtful and engaging way, helping me better understand Ghana’s history and heritage. For certain parts of my trip, Ben connected me with other local tour guides, and he made sure the handoffs were smooth and that I was always in good hands. Even when I was with another guide, Ben continued to check in with me to make sure everything was going well. Homecoming to Ghana
What a touching and phenomenal experience!! Communication was excellent with the tour company and guide. Pick-up was prompt and travel was efficient. Our guides were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Learning the history and the brutality of the slave trade can be troubling but it is so necessary and must be presented with care. I loved the perspective of a homecoming by the ancestors of the enslaved Africans. This company and tour is a 10/10 highly recommend.

Must Do!
This trip was more than I even expected it to be! It was a long day, and due to the recent rains, road conditions, and traffic, it was extra long. However, it was so worth it. Ben picked me up in the morning. I had been on his tour the prior day, so we already knew each other. As I was the only one on this one, he asked if I wanted to make any modifications, as it was originally booked for the Cape Coast and Canopy Forest Tour. Because I'm afraid of heights, I mentioned it, and he suggested the Ancestral Slave River. When we arrived, I was immediately taken by the calmness of the site. Despite the history of the place, it was quiet and allowed for a lot of reflection. I appreciated the information that was shared and the stillness. From there, we visited Elmina and Cape Coast Castles, where I was given private tours where I could ask any questions I had; I didn't feel rushed, and the guides were so knowledgeable. The chilling feeling that I got hearing about the atrocities that were committed at both sites for hundreds of years is something I will never forget. Ben was helpful in navigating the whole experience, answering all of my questions, and showing me a really powerful day. I highly recommend this trip!

MUST DO!
Amazing tour and I highly recommend it! I've been to Ghana 3 times and this is the one tour I do each and every time! It's definitely the best option if you don't want to do the hike at Kakum National Park and want to focus solely on the journey of our ancestors. Every black person in the world needs to experience this if you ask me. And Big Ben and his team make the journey incredibly special!
