The wonderful route of the Ancasocha trail is one of the least-known routes to the incredible Machu Picchu. It’s far less crowded than other trails. Not a lot of companies offer the tour because it’s so off-the-beaten-path and the scenery is so beautiful that it was recognized as one of the 20 dream hikes by National Geographic on their best walks in the world list. Along the trail, you’ll visit Quechua-speaking farming communities and observe how they live in these more remote parts of Cusco. Much of their culture and customs have changed very little for centuries, and these communities will give you a glimpse into what life was like back in Inca times. This trek combines high-altitude hiking in the Andes, fascinating history, endearing cultural exchanges, nature, and one of the quietest trails leading to Machu Picchu.

    Spiritual experience!

My friend and I completed the 4-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Wari Tours, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The organization was excellent, communication before the trek was clear, and everything ran smoothly throughout the journey. Our guide, Alfredo, was knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about the history, culture, and natural beauty of the Andes. We learned so much along the trail while always feeling safe and well cared for. I consider him a friend for life. The porters were incredible. Their hard work, kindness, and positive attitudes made the trek possible and truly memorable. The campsites were well organized, and the meals were surprisingly delicious, varied, and plentiful, especially considering the remote mountain environment. The scenery on the Inca Trail is breathtaking, but what made this trip special was the people. Every member of the Wari Tours team worked hard to create an unforgettable experience. Reaching Machu Picchu after four days on the trail was an emotional and rewarding moment that we will never forget. If you’re considering hiking the Inca Trail, I highly recommend Wari Tours. They provided outstanding service, excellent guides, and a first-class trekking experience.

    Incredible trek

Wari tours (Alfredo and team) were excellent in communicating and planning of our tour. My son and I had a private tour with all of the amenities you can imagine…tents, sleeping bags, food etc etc. Louis our tour guide was exceptional as he explains the history of his people and the land we were on. It’s a great tour, grueling at times but we had everything we needed. Ronaldo the chef even baked us a giant cake the final night. Incredible work by the team that carries “effortlessly” all the gear and our bags over the 4 days. Wari is a team of incredible knowledge one service. Thanks for the lifelong memories. Mike and Matt

Magical 4 days on Inca trail

Amazing tour group to go with for the four day Inca trail to Machu Picchu. They work very hard to carry so much stuff, set up camp, make four course delicious gourmet meals. Alfredo the tour guide was amazing and could tell us about everything and stayed right with us. Going with this tour and Crew really made it magical and so that we could just completely enjoy the hiking and sightseeing. It's nice because they have small group sizes. Thank you Wari!

How much does Ancascocha Trek to Machu Picchu 4 Days 3 Nights cost?

    +

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
