Unforgettable
Recently, I trekked with Action Peru Treks, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. We were lucky enough to have Eddie and Milton as our guides, and they made the entire experience unforgettable. The Ancascocha Trail was breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly serene. I can’t imagine having the same experience on the traditional Inca Trail with the larger crowds. The scenery was absolutely stunning from start to finish. Speaking of “breathtaking,” I was quickly humbled by the altitude despite vigorous preparation at home. I’m extremely grateful for the patience, encouragement, and support from our guides. They went above and beyond, using their contacts and resources to help me get through the steepest passes while still allowing me to experience as much of the trek as possible. The food was also incredible — our cook, Valerio, prepared amazing meals every day. The entire team worked so hard to make us comfortable, from waking us up with hot tea in our tents each morning to serving delicious three-plus-course dinners every night. Milton also guided us through the sites around Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu, and I learned so much throughout the journey. At every stage of the trek, I felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. I highly recommend booking with this group for an unforgettable Peru trekking experience.

Unforgettable experience, cannot recommend enough
This was one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had, and it was all thanks to the amazing team at Action Peru Treks. Every detail was thoughtfully considered — the behind-the-scenes organisation that made each day feel seamless truly blew our minds. The gear provided was top-notch, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. A special thank you to our guide, Lino. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable and patient, but also just a wonderful human being to be around. He had an answer for every single question we asked, and we loved immersing ourselves in the rich Inca culture. We’re also so grateful to the team of cooks and horsemen who prepared the most delicious meals and handled all the logistics with such care and professionalism. This tour was absolute perfection — I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Unbelievably good service and hiking experience
Roxner and the team at Action Peru Trek’s blew us away with a truly exceptional service. From the first enquiry we sent month before our hike, through till the final drop-off after our incredible trek, everything was so thoughtful and well-organised. The team on our 4-day trek were truly amazing: Lino our guide was kind, deeply knowledgeable, accommodating and always made us feel safe and cared for. Andres and Luis prepared insane banquets for every meal that blew us away again and again. The gear (tents, sleeping bags, poles and sleeping mats, in our case) were excellent quality: we had two mattresses, -18 rated sleeping bags, pillows, and fleece sleeping bag liners provided, and the tent was very generously sized for two people… safe to say, we were so comfortable each night. The organisation was seamless. Our MachuPichu tickets were booked for 6am - truly a gift, as we avoided the crowds and heat. Every transfer was comfortable. So many thoughtful touches every day, which all meant we felt so cared for, relaxed and could enjoy the beauty of Peru’s culture, history and breathtaking landscapes with total peace of mind. Couldn’t recommend this company highly enough. Thank you Roxner, Lino and the team for creating such a special experience for us.

Unforgettable experience with Christian
This trek was a truly unforgettable experience for my friend and I! At first we were a little nervous to be the only ones in our group, but we felt safe and supported the entire trip. Our guide Christian was knowledgeable, kind, encouraging, and fun to spend time with. The porters and chef were very sweet. Some of the coordination before and afterwards left something to be desired, but while we were on the trip everything went smoothly. The hike itself isn't for the faint of heart but totally worth it!

Amazing Hike Through The Mountains!
My brother and I did this trip and had an amazing time! This trail, while not the classic Inca trail, is a great experience. The hike goes through the mountains and gives amazing views without the crowds of the classic trail. We visited several Incan ruins along the path, along with water falls and lakes in the mountains. Our staff were very helpful and friendly. Each day we had three meals cooked for us, each of which was very good. One my birthday, the chef even prepared a cake to celebrate. Our camp and tent were set up each day for us which allowed us to relax after a long day of hiking. Our tour guide, Nito, was awesome. He is very knowledgeable of the Incan civilization, Peru, and the world in general. He shared many stories with us while we hiked and was very encouraging during the difficult parts of the hike. Many thanks Nito! Overall, we would recommend this hike to anyone who wants to hike through the Andean mountains and see Machu Picchu. We will note the hiking days can be intense, as we hiked around 42km over the three days of hiking, with significant elevation gains. The views are worth it!

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights cost?
+
Prices start at $730 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 82 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights?
+
Around 29 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ancascocha Trek To Machu Picchu 4 Days And 3 Nights start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
