What you get

    About this experience

Discover the breathtaking Anaga Rural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on Tenerife, where ancient laurel forests whisper secrets of the past and dramatic landscapes unfold like a living tapestry. Immerse yourself in one of the oldest natural spaces in the Canary Islands, with relict vegetation from the Tertiary era, misty trails, and panoramic views blending rugged mountains with the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Picking you up in the morning from your accommodation, we’ll first head to the Anaga mountain range. During your trek, we’ll visit numerous observation decks, travel through an ancient preserved forest and visit a local village in which the inhabitants built their homes in caves. The highlight of the trip, though, will be a visit to the village of Benijo, where we will taste local Canarian cuisine and visit one of the most vibrant beaches on the island. Plenty of stops for photos and stories along the way.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Tenerife

We will begin our journey with a short drive to reach the first viewpoint in Anaga (ANG). Depending on where you are staying in Tenerife, this stage will take no more than one hour.

      60 minutes here

    2. We will be passing by the first capital of Tenerife. Today, it stands as the island's largest historical center and is a UNESCO World Heritage site in its entirety. It would be a missed opportunity not to drive through its beautiful streets or stop for a moment to truly connect with the rich history of the Canary Islands.

      20 minutes here

    3. Mirador Pico Del Ingles

At this location, we will make two distinct stops at spectacular viewpoints. One of them offers a stunning 360° panoramic view on clear days, providing a full perspective of the island's rugged beauty. You will also have the opportunity to walk through the relict laurel forest. This is a unique chance to see with your own eyes the ancient endemic species that have survived on Tenerife since before the last Ice Age. It is a living museum of natural history.

30 minutes here · Admission included

    4. Mirador de Jardina

Our first stop will be at this panoramic viewpoint. The drive here usually takes about 30 minutes from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Cruise Port.

20 minutes here · Admission included

    5. Parque Rural de Anaga

We will definitely visit a hidden settlement with views reminiscent of Switzerland. Here, the local residents live exclusively in dwellings carved into the cliffs. You will also have the opportunity to visit a small local restaurant and taste traditional Canarian cuisine.

60 minutes here · Admission included

    6. Las Montanas de Anaga

Driving along the winding roads of Anaga, through natural tunnels formed by the lush vegetation, is a truly special experience. Along our way, we will make many unique and memorable stops.

60 minutes here · Admission included

    7. Taganana

This spot is home to three of the most beautiful black volcanic sand beaches in Tenerife. The waves here are consistently strong, but walking along the shore or even playing in the surf is always a fantastic experience. Even when it is raining up in the Anaga mountains, it is usually comfortable here, and above all, incredibly beautiful. Benijo Beach, located right here, is considered a powerful "energy spot." Don’t forget to bring your swimwear, as we will have plenty of time to enjoy this location.

      90 minutes here

    8. San Andres

We will conclude our visit to Anaga by driving down the mountain serpentines, gradually descending from an altitude of 900 meters to sea level. On our way, we will pass through this cozy town. Many people compare its views to the famous hillside villages of Italy, beautifully perched on the mountain slopes.

      30 minutes here

    9. Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Our route back takes us through the current capital of Tenerife. It is a modern and beautiful city, with a particularly well-developed port area. We will also pass by the famous Opera House, which has become a symbol of Tenerife, designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.

This tour was the absolute highlight of my vacation. We got incredibly lucky with the weather, and our guide, Eugenio, was absolutely amazing. His passion and knowledge made the experience truly special, and we felt like we were exploring the island with an old friend.

A special way to discover Tenerife

Eugenio was a wonderful guide, and we really enjoyed the tour with him. He showed us some beautiful places on the island and made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal. He was attentive, friendly and always made sure everyone was comfortable. What I liked most was that walking with him did not feel like a standard guided tour. It felt more like spending the day with someone who genuinely loves Tenerife and enjoys sharing it with others. The nature was absolutely beautiful, and we came away with very good memories. I would happily recommend him.

Great tour and an absolute must-do

This tour is an absolute must-do when visiting Tenerife. Since we were staying in the south of the island, booking a trip to the north where a guide picks you up and drives you straight to the best viewpoints in Anaga Park was the perfect choice. Our guide, Eugenio, was wonderful throughout the journey. The itinerary is very well-paced, giving you plenty of time to explore and enjoy the beautiful spots on your own. I highly recommend it

Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.

How much does Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.

Is Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Anaga Hidden Gems Private Relaxed Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tenerife?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tenerife?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tenerife?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
