Amazing day with the alpacas

We had an amazing tour with our guide Elisban, driver Jober and a lovely Andean family. We walked down to the village with the alpacas, learning about local plants, traditional music and ancient customs along the way. The walk ended at a UNESCO textile workshop where we participated in a traditional Pachamama ceremony and learned about how alpaca wool is prepared, dyed and woven. Exceptional experience, highly recommend!

What a unique experience!...

What a unique experience! From the alpaca walk to the textile workshop and traditional pachamanca lunch - all of it was amazing. My only complaint would be that our guide took a bunch of photos which he said he would send, but never did.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the alpaca walk, textile workshop, and traditional Pachamanca lunch. It’s wonderful to know that these experiences made your day so memorable. We’re sorry to hear about the photos. We understand how disappointing it is to be told they would be sent and then not receive them. We sincerely apologize for the oversight and will make sure this feedback is shared with our team so we can improve our follow-up. Thank you again for choosing us and for helping us improve our service. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide an even better experience next time!

Incredible Cultural Experience

This is an immersive Peruvian cultural experience. The Inca, Quechua lessons from nature and the medicinal properties of the encountered botany is a delight. We were treated to a special sacred ceremony by the guide’s grandfather that enriched our time. The pachamanka (in ground cooking with hot stones) was delicious and we were hands on. The leaves we gathered from the walk were then used for the dyeing process. We loved the educational demonstration of what natural sources make certain colours. We dyed our own skein of Alpaca. The day was full of surprises with making our own stuffed alpaca toy and learning a traditional dance. The enthusiasm and outpouring of sensitivity to our needs and interests was unsurpassed. This is a must do on your list of tours in Cusco!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt review! We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed this immersive cultural experience and that it gave you a deeper connection to the traditions, knowledge, and way of life of the Andean communities. Sharing the wisdom of the Inca and Quechua culture, the medicinal plants, and our ancestral traditions is something we are deeply passionate about. We're especially happy that the sacred ceremony, the hands-on pachamanca experience, the natural dyeing workshop, and the opportunity to create your own alpaca souvenir and learn a traditional dance made your day so memorable. It's wonderful to know that these authentic experiences left such a lasting impression. Your kind words about our team's enthusiasm and care truly mean the world to us. Thank you for recommending this experience to future visitors to Cusco. It was an honor to share our culture with you, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in Peru. Safe travels!

Cute alpacas, amazing food and lovely people

Memorable experience and wonderful conclusion to a magical week in Peru. Edwin took fantastic care of us and guided us attentively through a nice walk with alpacas as well as spending the rest of the day with a local community cooking a delicious pachamanca and learning about natural colouring. Unmissable!

It was a pleasure to personally accompany you on the walk with the alpacas and to share the day with the local community, cooking pachamanca together and learning about natural colouring traditions. Moments like these, connecting with nature, culture and people, are exactly what we love to create for our guests. Your description of the tour as “unmissable” means a lot to us and to our community partners. Thank you sincerely for your trust, your time, and your kind words. Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience cost?

+

Prices start at $169 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Alpaca Walk & Natural Dye Tour: A Memorable Full Day Experience start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
