Good experience
The experience with the people at Hun Ethno village was great. The demonstration of how their daily life from cooking their food to how their hut (yurk), was made was amazing. We tried archery & horse riding. The lunch could be improved as the meat served was greasy & has a strong smell. The trip to the Issyk Lake was good. Our guide, Nikita is helpful & friendly. Will definitely recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience at the Huns Ethno Village and that the demonstrations, archery, horse riding, and traditional culture made such a positive impression. It's also wonderful to know you enjoyed the visit to Issyk Lake and that Nikita helped make your day memorable. We truly appreciate your feedback about the lunch. We'll share your comments with our partners at the ethno village so they can review the quality and preparation of the meat and continue improving the experience for future guests. Thank you again for choosing us and for recommending our tour. We hope to welcome you back to Kazakhstan for another adventure in the future! 😊

a Kazakhstani fairytale
I had a spirited adventure with Bogdon. We first went to an ethnic village surrounded by yurts, great food, followed by an excellent show of trick horse riding. It really captured the spirit of Kazakhstan, and helped me envision what it must have been like for my own Russian grandfather who was a Cossack teaching trick riding at the military academy on the river Don. So many waves of history and culture came alive for me. Then we picked up the best Kebob sandwiches I have ever had, and headed up to Lake Issyk. A fantastic picnic in front of lofty snow capped peaks and the emerald turquoise lake. It felt like stepping into a fairytale with Bogdon candidly sharing his stories and adventures throughout the region. Completely inspiring and highly recommended. Thank Golden Man!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful and heartfelt review! We’re truly happy to hear that your day with Bogdan was not just a tour, but a meaningful journey through history, culture, and personal connection. Your story about your grandfather adds such a special dimension — it’s amazing how Kazakhstan can bring those memories and emotions to life. The combination of the ethnic village, traditional horse show, and peaceful time at Lake Issyk really is something special, and we’re glad Bogdan could make it even more memorable with his stories and energy. And we couldn’t agree more about those kebabs 😊 It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back for more adventures in Kazakhstan! Warm regards!

We had an amazing day on this tour! It was really fascinating to experience and learn about Kazakh culture at Gunny Ethnic Village. From delicious baursak and impressive horseback stunts to a traditional wedding ceremony, music, and stories of nomadic life, it was a wonderful way to be immersed in Kazakh culture. Kudos to all talented staff! Next we headed to Issyk Lake. The view was really breathtaking! It was calm, peaceful, and perfect for taking in the scenery and serenity. Thank you to our guides Artem and Bogdan, who were friendly and easygoing and made our trip even more enjoyable! Highly recommend this tour!

How long does Almaty: Jeep Private Huns Ethno Village & Issyk Lake Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Almaty is not rushed.
Is Almaty: Jeep Private Huns Ethno Village & Issyk Lake Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Almaty, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Almaty: Jeep Private Huns Ethno Village & Issyk Lake Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Almaty: Jeep Private Huns Ethno Village & Issyk Lake Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Almaty: Jeep Private Huns Ethno Village & Issyk Lake Day Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Almaty can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Almaty and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Almaty: Jeep Private Huns Ethno Village & Issyk Lake Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Almaty within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Almaty?
+
On Outty we rank every Almaty experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kolsai, Kaindy Lakes and Charyn Canyon Small Group Tour, Kolsai Kaindy Lakes with Charyn Canyons 2-day tour, Kolsai, Kaindy lakes & Charyn canyon with Yurt stay and Campfire. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Almaty?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Almaty?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
