    Totally disappointed and not safe.

Not as described. We felt as unsafe and the driver was not able to speak english. Lack of knowledge and poor communication lead to miserable journey .

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We take guest safety extremely seriously, which is why we are concerned by the claims made in this review. All of our tours are operated by licensed professional drivers who regularly serve international travelers. Throughout our years of operation, we have successfully completed a large number of tours for guests from around the world, and we have no record of any incident matching the circumstances described in this review. The statements regarding an English-speaking issue, lack of route knowledge, and feeling unsafe do not correspond with any report we have received from an actual customer. Our drivers follow pre-planned itineraries and are supported by our operations team throughout the tour. We would be happy to investigate this matter immediately if you can provide your booking reference, travel date, pickup location, and driver details. However, after reviewing our records, we are currently unable to identify you as a customer who traveled with us. We believe travelers deserve accurate and honest information when making travel decisions. For that reason, we encourage readers to review the detailed feedback provided by our verified guests, which reflects the level of service we consistently deliver. If you genuinely traveled with us, please contact us directly with your booking details so that the matter can be properly verified and addressed.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We are genuinely confused by your comments because the tour you reviewed is our “All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo.” The words “All Inclusive” are clearly stated in the tour title, itinerary, and inclusions. Therefore, the statement “Nothing is included” is simply not possible for this particular product. Furthermore, we have no record of any customer reporting that a driver did not know the route or was unable to operate the tour. All tours are operated according to a pre-planned itinerary and supported by our operations team throughout the day. If you have genuinely traveled with us, we kindly ask you to contact us directly with your booking reference, travel date, pickup location, and driver details so we can investigate this matter immediately. We maintain detailed operational records for all reservations and are confident that we can verify the facts. At present, we are unable to identify you as one of our customers from the information provided in this review. We invite travelers to read our many detailed reviews from verified guests who have actually experienced this tour and have shared their honest feedback regarding the inclusions, service quality, and professionalism of our team. We are always willing to address genuine concerns, but this review does not appear to match the service we provide or the records we have available.

Great Kandy day trip with an excellent driver, but check itinerary details in advance

This was a very enjoyable day trip to Kandy and a great way to see many key sights in one day. Our driver, Mr. Lal, was excellent as he made us feel very safe on the road and handled all ticket purchases smoothly, which made the experience stress-free. The planned tour itinerary included a wide range of stops: the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Royal Botanic Gardens (Peradeniya), Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden, Udawattakele Forest Reserve, Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue, Kandy viewpoint, New Ranweli Spice Garden, Oak Ray Handcrafted Wood Carvings, Kandy Lake, and Kandy City Center. I really enjoyed all the places we visited. A highlight for me was the spice garden, where we were given a guided tour explaining how different plants are used for remedies. We were treated to a delicious spice tea and even a short massage. We ended up buying a few items and received a good discount, possibly because we visited during the Sinhalese New Year. The Kandy viewpoint offered beautiful scenery, and you can get another better view by climbing to the top of the Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue. The visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic was also very interesting - we learned that it was once a royal palace before becoming a temple and that it houses what is believed to be the left tooth of Gautama Buddha, making it an important site for Buddhists. As expected, modest dress is required: shoulders and knees covered, and shoes and hats removed. We mostly drove through the city centre rather than exploring on foot due to time constraints and shop closing hours, but it didn’t feel like we missed too much. At Oak Ray Handcrafted Wood Carvings, we were shown different types of wood and how natural colouring is achieved, followed by time to browse their impressive handmade pieces. Lunch was included, with a budget of LKR 2,500 per person, which was sufficient to cover food and drinks depending on the restaurant you choose. The only downside was that we couldn’t visit the Udawattakele Forest Reserve because it was closed. Even our driver attempted to contact them without success, and it appeared to have been closed for some time based on online information. I contacted the tour operator (Sigiritrip Tours) to inform them and ask about a possible partial refund (since it would have been covered by the fee we paid), and although my message was read, I did not receive a response. If you’re considering this tour, I would strongly recommend confirming in advance (via email or WhatsApp) that all listed stops are actually open and accessible. Overall, aside from this issue, it was a pleasant and well-organised day trip. The drive from Colombo took about three hours each way, but the experience was worth it.

Great family day out to Kandy.

It was a really long day, ended up being 13 hours due to traffic, but such a fun day out. Our driver was Lal and he adapted the itinerary to suit our young family. This meant substituting the Royal Botanical Gardens with the Elephant Sanctuary. Herbal Centre and Tea Factory was also heavily marked up for tourists, but was well worth a visit and lots of information given. Very happy with my soursop tea. A few tips, ensure you where a t shirt or something to cover your shoulders and pants to cover your knees. Otherwise you have to buy a heavily marked up sarong. There is a rental option at the door in case your tour guide doesn't tell you this. Overall a great (but long) day out for the family.

All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Colombo.

How much does All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Colombo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Colombo is not rushed.

Is All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Colombo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Colombo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Colombo and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does All Inclusive Kandy Private Day Tour From Colombo and Negombo start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Colombo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Colombo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Colombo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flexi dates on all 5 to 7 days packages for car and English speaking driver, Sri Lanka Personal Tour Driver in private vehicle, 08 Nights in Magical Sri Lanka. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Colombo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Colombo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
