150+ people on a party cruise

We booked this excursion because it clearly said that it was good for avoiding crowds and that the group size was 40 people. When we arrived to the pier (after the late pick up) we were pointed to our boat and we could not believe it… it was not 40 people, it was at least 150 people on this boat. We got super scared because we were travelling to the US two days after, and we booked this tour to avoid big crowds and catching covid. This led to that we did not go snorkeling (which was a major reason why we booked this tour) because there were a crazy amount of people on a super small area on the boat before jumping in the water. The music was EXTREMELY loud and the all inclusive drinks were stored in big containers placed in the sun. We only used the boat as transportation and tried to avoid as many people as we could. We did not get the tour we booked and payed for which is NOT acceptable and we would therefore request a refund.

Response from the operator: Hello Ms. Anna. Thank you for your comment, we want to tell you that we are surprised by the description of your experience, the catamaran has a maximum capacity of 75 passengers you said that there were at least 150 people, with that capacity the boat is considered a Ferry, in our tour we do not have this type of transportation, also the Ferry do not have the necessary permit to perform the snorkeling activity. Regarding the drinks, we have a bartender who is the person who prepares the drinks directly from the bottles. In order to confirm that you have done the tour with us, please send us your booking reference to the following email: marketingtoptravelconnection@gmail.com Best regards, have a nice day.

    Disappointing

Nothing about this cruise was terrible but it was not what I expected. The boat was very loud. If you are looking for a relaxing sail to the island this isn’t for you. The reason I booked this trip was that we wanted to snorkel. The boat captain was yelling at us to swim the whole time and we couldn’t stop to look at anything for more then a couple seconds without him yelling at us to keep up with the group. We saw one underwater hand statue and maybe 2 fish and then we got back on the boat. I was very disappointed. The private beach was suuuper crowded and every inch on the beach was taken the whole time. If you weren’t in the water you could barely relax because there were people everywhere. The food was ok but definitely wasn’t something I would want seconds of. On the way back to Cancun the boat captain begged everyone for tips for at least 20 min. He told everyone that tips were all of his salary in English and then said that tips were 50% of his tips in Spanish. It was very disappointing that he was trying to get more tips by lying to people about how much he needs them. I wouldn’t recommend this cruise to anyone that is looking for a nice relaxing day with snorkeling and a private beach.

All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tulum.

How much does All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks cost?

    +

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tulum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tulum is not rushed.

Is All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Tulum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tulum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tulum and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does All Inclusive Caribbean adventure, reef snorkeling, Food & Drinks start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tulum within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tulum?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tulum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal and Cenote tour, Tulum Guided Tour, Magical Cenote, Lagoon Snorkeling and Beachside Lunch, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tulum?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tulum?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
