Cenote Tour with Xcaret
The Xenotes tour itself was beautiful, but our guide, Pepe, completely ruined the experience. He had a very bad attitude from the beginning. He spoke about 90% of the bus ride in Spanish, so I couldn’t understand most of the instructions. Then, after we got off the bus, he pointed me out in front of everyone and yelled at me for putting on sunscreen. I tried to explained that I had applied it before boarding the bus, but he continued to scold me publicly. He also yelled at my husband and several of our friends during the tour. No guest should be treated this way. A tour guide should be respectful, patient, and professional—not embarrass people in front of the entire group. The cenotes were amazing, but because of Pepe’s rude and disrespectful behavior, what should have been a wonderful experience was ruined. I normally tip tour guides generously, but I chose not to tip him because of how we were treated. I hope Xcaret addresses this issue so future guests receive the respectful service they deserve.
Response from the operator: Dear Visitor, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your visit to Xenotes. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the breathtaking beauty of the cenotes, we are truly sorry to learn that your interaction with your guide did not meet your expectations. At Grupo Xcaret, our greatest value is Joy of Serving, and we strive to ensure every visitor feels welcomed, respected, and cared for throughout their experience. We also appreciate your comments regarding the language used during the tour and the way the sunscreen instructions were communicated. Clear, respectful, and inclusive communication is essential to delivering a positive experience for all our visitors, and your observations will be shared with the appropriate team for review. Although we regret that these circumstances affected your day, we are grateful that you were still able to appreciate the extraordinary natural beauty of the cenotes. Surrounded by the lush jungle, Xenotes is designed to offer unforgettable adventures that celebrate the unique wonders of the region. Thank you once again for bringing this matter to our attention. Your feedback helps us continue improving, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide the warm, attentive service that truly represents Grupo Xcaret. Take the Leap!
This is perhaps the best excursion we have taken over two separate weeklong stays in Riviera Maya. Our guides were Paula and Paulina; they were experienced, great sense of humor, and encouraging. This is not a trip for the faint of heart. You will jump from 20 feet or higher into cenotes, both above and below ground. You will swim in deep underground, rather dark caves. You will zip line and kayak. It is exhilarating and I would do it all gain tomorrow. The trip includes a mid-morning coffee and snack break and a delicious lunch in the afternoon. The drive from our resort was a bit long and there is a lot of back and forth into the van to travel from one cenote to another. Bring water shoes and a change of clothes.
Response from the operator: Dear Corinna, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your visit to Xenotes! We are honored to know that this excursion stands out as one of the highlights of your time in the Riviera Maya. It is especially rewarding to hear that Paula and Paulina made the day even more memorable with their expertise, enthusiasm, and encouraging spirit. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the wide variety of activities, from soaring above the jungle and kayaking to discovering the beauty of the underground cenotes. Our goal is to create unforgettable moments by combining exciting outdoor experiences, breathtaking natural scenery, and the unique atmosphere of the jungle. We also appreciate your thoughtful recommendations for future visitors, as well as your comments regarding the transportation between the different cenotes. Your observations are truly valuable and help us continue refining every aspect of our service. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for many more unforgettable adventures at this or any other park and tour, such as Xel-Há, Xplor Fuego, or Xoximilco, which could fit your interests and preferences. 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine cost?
+
Prices start at $143 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 1,111 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine?
+
Around 389 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chichen Itza from Cancun : Cenote, Valladolid and Mayan Cuisine, Early Access to Chichen Itza with optional pick-up, Early morning Chichen Itza Tour: Cenote and Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 4-in-1 Cenote Tour Guided Experience with Breakfast, Lunch & Wine?
