Bucket List -Alberobello and Matera ❤️
We were pleased that we’d chosen to visit Alberobello and Matera. However, we were feeling the heat (38 degrees ) after the first tour around Alberobello and decided to do our own slow paced walk around Matera. Our first guide in Alberobello was a very pleasant young lady .

Well organised tour with excellent guide at Alberobello. Shame about the Matera guide
This tour is well organised with comfortable buses. The guide in Alberobella was great - very impressive. The Matera element was poor- the size of the group was 30 people and the guide was an angry man. It took 45 mins to let everyone go to the toilet before the tour even started. 30 people walking up and down stairs took forever and the guides English was weak

The guides provided fun...
The guides provided fun interesting facts and were happy to answer all our random questions. They did a great job keeping us together in the rain.

Trullo
Fast paced, mildly rugged terrain. The Alberobello guide was excellent. Spoke English well and was quite knowledgeable. She was kind and patient with me considering my mobility issues. Now, the Matera guide was annoyed at my being slow. We agreed he would take the group on ahead and I would "do my thing". I had the best Aperol Spritz and hot chocolate (not at same time 😅) of my trip so far - Vittorio Veneto Caffe.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very pleased to hear that you found the Alberobello guide excellent, knowledgeable, and especially kind and patient in accommodating your mobility needs — this is something we truly value. We’re sorry to learn that your experience in Matera did not feel as supportive. While the fast pace and mildly rugged terrain can be challenging, we regret if you felt uncomfortable at any point. We appreciate your flexibility in finding a solution that allowed you to enjoy the visit at your own rhythm. We’re glad, however, that you still managed to enjoy a memorable moment in Matera — and it sounds like the Aperol Spritz and hot chocolate at Vittorio Veneto Caffè were a highlight! 😄 Your feedback is very important to us and helps us continue improving our tours.

Alberobello and Matera
This was a long but enjoyable day. We caught the tour bus in Bari near the Teatro Petrucelli. It was about an hour drive to Alberobello. When we arrived we hit the ground running, we paid for the guided tour. Our guide was great, knowledgeable, funny and understandable. The Trulli were cool. Not enough time there to explore would be my only feedback. Afterwards we boarded the bus for Matera. Same scenario, hit the ground running, but not as well organized. Our guide didn't speak English well and we could barely understand or hear him. Warning, Matera is scenic and historic, but this tour is challenging, up and down slick stone streets and many narrow staircases with no handrails. I can only imagine if it rained...I do NOT recommend for anyone that has mobility issues or isn't reasonably fit. The views from the top were amazing if you could make it up there. Again, not enough time to explore. Would like to go back on my own time and visit. Would recommend this tour.

Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bari.
How much does Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bari usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bari is not rushed.
Is Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bari, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bari can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bari and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Alberobello & Matera Tour with Tasting and Guide - from Bari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bari within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bari?
+
On Outty we rank every Bari experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bari’s Ultimate Street Food Tour - Small Group by Do Eat Better, Boat Tour of the Polignano a Mare Coast with Aperitif, Bari Vecchia Group Tour in Italian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bari?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bari?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
