They abandoned us in Alberobello and left

Absolute disaster – avoid this agency at all costs! This was the worst travel experience I have ever had. We paid €50 for two people to go from Bari to Alberobello. For the return trip, we were told to be at the meeting point at 18:15. To be safe, we arrived at 18:05, but the bus was already gone. We even called the office at 18:12 to ask where the bus was, and they shamelessly lied, claiming it left at 18:15 and that they knew two people were missing. Our call logs prove we were there before the scheduled time, yet they abandoned us anyway. Instead of helping, they tell us go to another location, wait an hour, and forced us to pay for new tickets! This second bus wasn't even direct. Because of their incompetence, we missed our connecting train to another city and arrived at our destination late at night, exhausted and having spent a lot of extra money. They showed zero professionalism and didn't even offer an apology. Unreliable and dishonest – stay away

We just want tickets for 5euro and we been forced to buy tour for 75 without knowing the price in advance. DO NOT USE!!!

We went to bus station and our mistake was we ask for tickets in Apulia tour stand instead of regular bus tickets office - next stand. Apulia tour staff told us right away the bus is full and the next bus is full also, it just sold out, but they can squeeze us in leaving bus, but you have to hurry, and pay in cash. They charge us 75 euro for the tour we never ask for. They just make the atmosphere like - this is your “last” chance to go to alberobello - bus is waiting for you. We stop it for you, and it is true, they stop leaving bus. When I pay I was quite surprised how expensive bus tickets are and ask twice if the price is right. They send us to bus without any physical tickets or paper. When I refuse leave without return ticket, i find out they sold us a tour, we have 4 hours and some museum tickets that costs 3euro on site. So total cost per person is about 13 euro and we paid 75 for 3peron only because we ask wrong person in right office and they catch opportunity how to to scame tourists. Definitely not for the first time.

    Bad experience

Too expensive for what is included. The worker did not offer us the opportunity to reimburse the tickets that simply for the outward journey and the museum already cost too much. He tricked us and then the staff was very rude.

Tuttavia, desideriamo precisare che il servizio prenotato è un tour self-guided con trasporto GT da Bari ad Alberobello, come chiaramente indicato nella descrizione dell’attività. Alberobello - short trip

We chose this excursion offer because it was actually only a transport to the Alberobello and back to Bari and took only about 6 hours with a ride, so not strenuous. We could visit everything alone, had about 3 hours free time. That was perfect for us. Bus was on time.

    While an audio tour works...

While an audio tour works well in museums and similar venues, I don’t think it worked here. The multitude of shops, cafes and conversations with the locals draw your attention away from a structured tour. Better to read the history before arriving and just enjoy the many features of Alberobello while strolling its inviting streets. Also: this was billed as a half day tour. We received notice the day before of a time change. So, we left the bus station at 9:45 and returned at 4. That occupied the mayor the day leaving little time left to enjoy other sites in Bari.

Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bari.

How much does Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus cost?

    +

Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bari usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bari is not rushed.

Is Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bari, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bari can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bari and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Alberobello Self-Guided Tour Departing from Bari by GT Bus start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bari within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bari?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bari experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bari’s Ultimate Street Food Tour - Small Group by Do Eat Better, Boat Tour of the Polignano a Mare Coast with Aperitif, Polignano a Mare: Boat Tour of the Caves - Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bari?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bari?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
