What you'll see and do
f you have just 1 day in Marrakesh don’t lose the opportunity to live a desert ambient for few ours. Our afternoon trip drives us to the west of Marrakesh , the route is shaded by lush vegetation, olive and orange orchards past the occasional village Off Ait Imour then to off road, the scenery is completely different – a stone desert, barren light brown plateaux.

This camel ride is really a worth of a try. 🐪
This camel ride is really a worth of a try. You could feel how people in the past lived their lives with camels in the desert. And the camels, they're very kind-hearted. They welcome every person who'd like to try their ride of experience. Plus, the Moroccan Mint tea, and our friendly guide Mr. Ismail is with you the whole time for your safety, joy, information and support. Thank you for an unforgettable, valuable experience. 👍

Family friendly 1 hour camel ride at sunset!
Highly recommend! I had a hard time finding a one hour camel ride online but this was it! We had a private 1 hour camel ride for our family of three. Our son is 10 and he loved it. They picked us up near our Riad AirBnB and were absolutely lovely. Don’t worry about giving them the exact location of your Riad when you’re in America. They will contact you via What’s App a day or two before your camel ride. Google Maps works fantastic and you can drop a pin where you are at. Best experience in Morocco!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review and recommendation. We are very happy to know that you and your family enjoyed the camel ride and your time in Marrakech, it was pleasure hosting you and we hope to welcome again on your next trip to Morocco.

Agafay desert experience (40 mins from Marrakech) features rocky, lunar landscapes, offering sunset camel rides, quad biking, and luxurious overnight stays in tents or domes. It's a quick, authentic, and scenic alternative to the Sahara, perfect for dinner

It’s wonderful to hear the sunset camel ride and dinner made your visit special. We hope to welcome you again for another memorable moment in Morocco!

Great memory in the desert
Nice and courteous driver, good car. The camel experience was fun. They dressed us in some nice traditional clothing, very photogenic. The camels seemed taken care of and the place was clean.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the camel experience and the traditional attire, as well as the comfort of the vehicle. It’s also great to know that you appreciated the care for the animals and the cleanliness. We truly appreciate your review and hope to welcome you again soon.

Honest tour operator
My husband and I did not receive the private camel ride that was advertised. There was really nothing our driver, Walid, could do since he is not the tour operator. I notified Morocco Desert Trips via WhatsApp after the camel ride was over that we had not received the experience that we had paid for. The person I spoke with, Mr. Said, responded promptly and apologized. I told him I thought I should be partially reimbursed (a private camel ride is much more expensive than the group tour). He responded by asking me how much I thought I should be refunded. I stated the amount and he agreed. Walid hand delivered the MADs to our hotel the next day. Honestly, I was surprised. I have a lot of respect for the tour operator to acknowledge we did not receive what we paid for and refund some of our money. I don't really know how the mixup took place but I would definitely use them again. At the very least, they are honest and respectful toward their customers.
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your experience. We're glad Mr. Said could resolve the issue to your satisfaction. Sometimes expectations can differ, and we're happy the matter was addressed promptly. Thanks for appreciating our honesty. we will always be honest and real with our guests and do the best for their satisfaction .

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Agafay Desert Sunset Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Agafay Desert Sunset Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Agafay Desert Sunset Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Agafay Desert Sunset Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 109 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Agafay Desert Sunset Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Agafay Desert Sunset Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Agafay Desert Sunset Tour?
+
Around 38 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Agafay Desert Sunset Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
