A fun day out with Thanut!
I had the pleasure of having Thanut show me around one of the floating villages on Tonle Sap. It was well organized, and Thanut knows a lot about the area, having literally grown up around the lake. Thanut is knowledgeable, easy to understand (super important in Cambodia), and generally just a fun guy to be around. The pricing for his tours is fair & straightforward. BTW, this is the second time I’ve used Thanut as a guide. Highly recommend him!

All in one discovery of an amazing country, culture and people
Thanut was an incredible and trustworthy guide in the Siem Reap area. Right from the initial planning stages he was friendly to talk to, quick to respond and extremely helpful in offering itinerary suggestions and general advice on what to see and do. We spent three full days with Thanut and his team; everyone couldn’t have been more friendly, professional and a joy to be around. We spent our first night on a food tour traveling around Siem Reap. A late diversion ended with us hanging out at one of his local spots and spending several hours getting to know each other, eating new and interesting cuisine and drinking several Cambodian beers. A great start! Our next two days consisted of multiple temple visits, additional food discoveries, and the incredible floating village. Thanut and the additional guides were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and eager to answer any questions we had or pivot to anything we might be interested in doing and seeing. This was more than a discovery of a new country and culture. We felt as if we made new friends and I sincerely hope anyone who reads this and is thinking of hiring Thanut will do so. It’s certainly an experience that will last with us for a lifetime.
Response from the operator: Dear Pepperonigin, Thank you so much for this amazing review — it truly touches my heart. From our first messages during the planning stage to the final day together, it was such a pleasure getting to know you all. I’m really happy that the itinerary, the flexibility, and the little spontaneous moments (like our late-night stop with Cambodian beers!) helped make the experience feel personal and special. Those unplanned moments often become the best memories. 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the food tour, the temple visits, and the floating village — and that you felt comfortable asking questions, exploring new dishes, and diving deeper into the culture. For us, it’s never just about showing places; it’s about sharing stories, experiences, and creating genuine connections. Hearing that you felt like you made new friends means more than you know. That’s exactly how we hope every guest feels by the end of their trip. Thank you again for your trust, your kindness, and your recommendation. I truly hope our paths cross again someday — you will always have friends waiting for you in Siem Reap. Best Wishes Thanuttours

A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.
How much does A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village cost?
+
Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.
Is A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does A Journey to Tonle Sap Through Kampong Phluk Floating Village start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?
+
On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap, 2 Days Guided Historical Tour in Angkor, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
