Château Hopping In Grand Style!
What a fabulous day — feeling the thrill of the open road and the wind in my hair, riding shotgun in a vintage, Soviet-style sidecar through the endless vineyards, elegant châteaux and medieval villages surrounding Bordeaux. I’m so thankful I chose to explore the region privately by sidecar than be packed into a van with several other tourists. Alexandre impressed me from our very first communication online, responding promptly to my inquiries and giving me several touring options to consider. In the end, he curated a full day private tour for me with top notch wine tastings, off roading through vineyards and the loveliest picnic ever under a shady tree overlooking the vineyards. Alexandre’s enthusiasm for the area and its wine culture was contagious. He is a true pro at what he does, and I happily give him and his agency the highest recommendation possible.
Response from the operator: Wow, that's great, Andrew, thank you so much. Yes, we're trying to spread the word about our love for the region, it's fantastic if it's working :) What a day! It was really fun, and what an adventurer you are, well done!

Time of my life!
Alex provided what my sister described as the time of her life, riding on, again as she said, a full blown motorcycle on the freeway at 60 mph. She loved it! The majority of the trip of course was causally driving through the beautiful wine countryside of Saint-Emilion stopping and visiting the beautiful towns and having a fabulous lunch in the countryside all provided by Alex. He was the best, and why wouldn’t he, his joy and love of what does shows through as only one who is doing exactly what he wants to do can do! Highly recommended this trip especially if you have never been on a motorcycle. Thank you Alex for the time of my sister’s life experience!
Response from the operator: What a great comment! Thank you Michael. This touches me greatly. And I hope you're less sick to enjoy your vacation.

One of the most fun things we've done on a trip!
We had an absolutely amazing day with Alex. We enjoyed a picnic, wine tasting, driving through vineyards (and almost getting stuck LOL) and seeing the beautiful sights around Saint Emilion. My wife and I had permanent smiles on our faces for the whole day. Alex is an excellent guide/driver and is very personable and engaging. We'd do this again on our next trip and take in some new sights (perhaps right in Bordeaux itself). Great day! Thank you Alex.
Response from the operator: It's perfect, thank you very much for these comments, it goes straight to our hearts :)

Retro Tour a fantastic experience
The perfect way to spend a day in Bordeaux away from the crowds! Alex picked us up exactly as planned and had selected 2 unique chateaus as part of our experience visiting St Emilion. Our private visits at each chateau plus a picnic lunch created a memorable and relaxing day. Traveling with Alex in his side car through Bordeaux was so much fun. Definitely recommend & will be telling family and friends to add this to their next trip must-do list. -Heather & Patrick
Response from the operator: That's great Heather, thank you for those comments! For me too, the day was very nice with you :)

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bordeaux.
How much does A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar cost?
+
Prices start at $395 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bordeaux usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bordeaux is not rushed.
Is A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bordeaux, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bordeaux can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bordeaux and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does A day in Saint-Emilion in a sidecar start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bordeaux within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bordeaux?
+
On Outty we rank every Bordeaux experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Saint-Emilion Electric Bike Day Tour with Wine Tastings & Lunch, Saint-Émilion Afternoon Tour - 2 Grand crus & French apéritif, "Bordeaux by bicycle: a 3-hour tour immersive experience". The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bordeaux?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bordeaux?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
