Horrible, this is a scam
No one showed up, we tried calling and it sent us to a AI messenger, when we tried emailing there was no response. This. Is. A. Scam!

A great experience
Franky and Brian were great! They made our first surfing experience fun, simple and stress free. Don’t forget sunscreen and aloe and expect to get a little rash from the board but totally worth it !

Made surfing so easy!!
My 2 daughters (ages 8 and 15) had their first ever surfing lesson a couple days ago with Franky. They were up and riding waves in less than an hour! He's really awesome at teaching and the girls had so much fun, they had another lesson this morning. The 2nd teacher, Carrie, was great too

10/10 recommend.
Franky is incredibly reasonable in price, got me set up with a lesson right away for the same week I needed one, and made my first time surfing awesome! Neither my boyfriend or I had ever been, but Franky and his instructors helped us both stand up and ride our first waves. It was a great experience all around. They even take pictures and videos of you while you’re surfing for an extra fee! It isn’t the highest quality camera, but it is really great to have pictures afterwards. I would definitely go back for a second lesson. I highly recommend doing the two hour lesson. It gives you good amount of time for the on shore part of the lesson and time to be in the water.

Awesome experience
We drove over from Orlando to cocoa beach and found the surf school just as you approach the main beach entrance. Franky the owner was great, friendly, patient, professional yet all fun at the same time. We started with a few warm up stretches on the beach, then went into technique after we grasped this it was out on the water. Franky mentors through each wave, shows you what to look for and when to pop up to get the most out of the wave. He also had a photographer there where we could buy the photos from the session, no pressure to buy them and she was lovely too. You can also rent the boards for the day so you can continue to practice. My partner was up and riding in no time, I on the other hand took a lot longer but he was very patient and supportive and didn't make me feel bad which was amazing. Overall we would highly recommend the experience but in particular Franky and his surf school. A hive of knowledge and is experienced all over the world. Thanks for a great day!!

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
90 Minute Private Surf Lesson: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Wilmington.
How much does 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson cost?
+
Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Wilmington usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Wilmington is not rushed.
Is 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Wilmington, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Wilmington can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Wilmington and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 90 Minute Private Surf Lesson start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Wilmington within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Wilmington?
+
Wilmington runs riverfront history and ghost walks, Battleship North Carolina visits, film-location tours, and boat trips out to Wrightsville Beach and Masonboro Island. On Outty we rank every Wilmington experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include History and Architecture Walking Tour, THE Wilmington History, Haunts & Breweries E-Bike Tour (4 hr), Sailing Charters in Wilmington. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Wilmington?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Wilmington?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
