A Fantastic 8 Days in Senegal!
We went on an 8-day private tour of Senegal and every day there was some wonderful surprise. Our tour guide, Ali, took very good care of us and was available 24/7. Abdul, our driver, is an excellent driver. High points were Goree Island, the markets, especially a lamb market that we happened to pass, and the fish markets, the carriage ride in Saint Louis to a very different part of town from where our hotel was, Djoudj National Park , another bird watching boat ride, and the lion walk—don’t miss that!
Response from the operator: Dear Susan, Thank you for your review about Ashanti African Tours on TripAdvisor. We are very happy to know your private 8 day Senegal tour with our guide Ali went on well. Thank you for mentioning some highlights of the trip. From all of us at Ashanti African Tours we wish you well in your next adventure and we hope to see you again soon on one of our other destination tours of Ghana, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast and Sao Tome and Principe. Have a wonderful day. With best regards, Patience Dadzie

A wonderful nature trip
Excellent hardly covers it. From the moment I made an enquiry to the end of the trip Ashanti African tours were exemplary. The office support was very reassuring and helpful. Then, from the moment I was met at the airport in Accra to the moment I was dropped back there I was looked after perfectly. Both guides were excellent - and it is wonderful to have your guide jump with personal joy at some of the sightings. I had specifically requested a pangolin, after 30 years and many safaris in other places. We saw two. With an attitude of can do - and will go on trying. It was a massive bonus that Andrew knows butterflies as well as he does. Even when the birds were being shy, the butterflies entertained us. Unbelievable. Both guides were solicitous - and at Ankasa Richard, the driver there, went out of his way to help me get in and out of the rather high vehicle - thank you Richard. Both Andrew and Jackson were also informative about customs, traditions and family life which was very interesting. Oh. And if you are going solo: yup, that was OK. If you are looking for somewhere to go: try Ghana.
Response from the operator: Dear Helen, Thank you for your great review about Ashanti African Tours on TripAdvisor. We are happy you saw Pangolins with us after trying for years and enjoyed your trip from start till end. We look forward to seeing you again in the future for a wonderful tour of Togo, Benin, Senegal, Ethiopia, Sao Tome and Principe. On behalf of all the team at Ashanti, I wish you all the best in your next adventure. Have a wonderful day. With best regards, Patience Dadzie

9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Accra.
How much does 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $4,695 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Accra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour take?
+
Plan for about 216 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Accra is not rushed.
Is 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Accra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 216-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Accra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Accra and add a light layer if any part of the 216-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Accra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Accra?
+
On Outty we rank every Accra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Experience the Beauty, History and the Culture Of Accra in a Day, Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle & Kakum National Park Day Tour, Accra Guided City Tour: Cultural and Historical Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Accra?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Accra?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 9 Day Ghana Wildlife and Culture Tour?
+
Included: Expert local guide (24/7); 24/7 Office support; Air-conditioned vehicle; Lunch; and Dinner. Not included: International flights; Soft and alcoholic drinks; and Visa. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
