A great experience with Meru Slopes

Booking our tour was very easy with Gift Tempo, who was extremely helpful, positive and very quick with his responses! Gift was very flexible and assisted us in the exact places we wanted to visit!! He also handled special situations once we travelled to Tanzania with great professionalism. He has a vehicle waiting for a second group of us who were delayed with our plane. On the last day, he also secured a vehicle and Arusha tour for one of our group who had injured her foot at the same time the rest of us climbed Mt. Killamanjaro. He created a pleasant day for someone who needed an alternative. Gift also set us up with Jacob, who we are convinced is the best guide in the whole Serengeti!! Jacob was an extremely pleasant and fun person to be with. He made everything about our tour special in an amazing way! Jacob seemed to know the Serengeti like the back of his hand and went out of his way to get us in front of some amazing experiences with the animals! Jacob was also extremely patient with our group, stopping the vehicle very often to allow us to take in many “moments” with the animals. In all, I was taken aback by the very high level of service by all the lodges and tents we stayed in and especially overwhelmed by how Jacob and Gift worked diligently to make our trip a memorable one! I would set Meru Slopes aside as a top tier experience in Safaris!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that Gift and Jacob made your Tanzania adventure so special, going the extra mile to ensure everyone felt cared for. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with them. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable safari! Warm regards, Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris

    Meru Slopes is the best!

Meru Slopes was incredible! We traveled through Tanzania as an extended family, and they helped make it a trip we’ll never forget. The accommodations were wonderful—especially the tented camps in the Serengeti, which were a highlight for everyone. Whenever something came up, whether we wanted to adjust our itinerary or a hotel didn’t have the right bed setup, our sales representative, Gift Tempo, was responsive, helpful, and reassuring. We felt well taken care of throughout the trip. And our guide, Jacob, was truly the best! Thanks to his knowledge, patience, and dedication, we saw everything we hoped for and more. He made the experience feel special for our whole family. We came home with incredible memories and so much gratitude for the Meru Slopes team. We would recommend them wholeheartedly!

Response from the operator: Thank you for trusting us with your family adventure! We’re delighted Gift and Jacob helped make your Tanzania journey so memorable, and that the Serengeti camps were a highlight. Your kind words mean so much to our team. We hope to welcome your family back again! Warm regards, Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris

Unforgettable Safari experience with wonderful service, guide, cook and all the big five and Great Migration.

I cannot recommend Meru Tours highly enough! We had the most incredible experience on our 6 day private safari - each day we thought it couldn't get better but new encounters with the big 5 and many other animals just kept coming and we will cherish the memories for a lifetime. If you are looking for a safari that really offers you the most amazing up-close wildlife and cultural experiences as well as great personal service, this safari from Meru Tours is perfect. Everything about this safari was fantastic from the booking process with Kelvin Bonath from Meru Tours, the wonderful driver and guide Jackson, and the talented chef Rashid. Kelvin always replied quickly and was flexible in planning our safari. Jackson is full of knowledge about the wildlife and culture, he's patient and always in a good mood and always makes sure we are having the best experience. Of course with nature there's an element of luck so he can't guarantee you'll See every animals - but with his experience you have the best chance and we saw the big five and so many more as well as the Great Migration so do ask for Jackson as a guide when booking! Also ask for Rashid as your chef as he's a wonderful cook and the two of them are a wonderful team. Meru Slopes is a very professional local Tanzanian company and we found it was excellent value for money. We will definitely book with them again If we come back (which we hope will be soon)!

    Amazing Safari experience!

Meru Slopes, and specifically Douglas (our driver and guide) gave us the best trip of our lives. We did 6 days of Safari through Tarangire, Central Serengeti, Ndutu (with a hot air balloon ride), and Ngorongo Crater. We had one final day in Arusha with a day trip to Materuni Falls. This perfect itinerary was organized by Leonard and he was responsive throughout the whole trip. The safari was a life changing experience. We loved every single moment of it. My wife and I each celebrated our birthdays throughout the trip and Meru Slopes was excellent in organizing many surprises for our birthdays. Our accomodations were great. Well furnished, nice toilets with hot showers, great staff. The only thing is that it would sometimes get very hot during the day and only our first tented accomodation had a regular sized fan. It was quite a cool experience to hear the wildlife right outside our tent at night. We saw each of the Big Five and many other animals. We witnessed predators and scavengers feeding on prey, a wildabeest calf being born, a parade of elephants walking towards us, a cheetah scanning for prey from atop a termite mound. These experiences, and more, were only possible because of the 15 years of expertise of Douglas. He was truly amazing and we genuinely miss him now that our trip is over. He made us feel like family. 10/10 recommend.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.

How much does 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration cost?

    +

Prices start at $3,800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration take?

    +

Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.

Is 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 8 Day Mid Range Serengeti Wildebeests Migration start and how do I get there?

    +

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
