Outstanding Safari Experience with Gosheni and Our Guide Samir
Safari Experience with Gosheni and Our Guide Samir We had an unforgettable safari with Gosheni, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide and driver, Samir. Samir was incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife. He could identify not only the Big Five, but also countless birds, reptiles and plants. Whenever we had a question, he always had a clear and interesting explanation. We learned so much during the trip. He also had an amazing eye for spotting animals. We saw far more than we expected, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, flamingos, secretary birds, crowned cranes, and many other species. He was patient and never rushed us, always making sure everyone had enough time to enjoy the sightings and take photos. As a driver, Samir was excellent. The roads in the parks can be rough, but we always felt safe and comfortable. He also positioned the vehicle carefully so everyone had a good view for photography. What impressed us most was his passion for nature. He didn’t just drive us from one animal to another—he helped us understand the ecosystem and appreciate every part of it. Even a small bird or an interesting plant became a memorable stop. The entire trip was well organized by Gosheni, from communication before arrival to the safari itself. Everything went smoothly, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Gosheni, and especially Samir, for making this one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever had. We would highly recommend both the company and Smir to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania!

Wonderful trip with guide Ombeni
Gosheni Safaris and guide Ombeni are wonderful. The arrangement, food, accommodation, vehicle and everything is good. Highly recommend Ombeni and Gosheni Safaris!
Response from the operator: Dear Qi L, Thank you very much for your kind review and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly appreciate it. We are very pleased to hear that you had a wonderful trip with Ombeni and that the overall arrangements — from accommodation and meals to vehicle comfort and daily organization — met your expectations. A safari only feels smooth when logistics, timing, and field execution all work together properly. Ombeni is one of our most trusted and experienced guides. He combines strong wildlife knowledge with safe driving, good vehicle positioning, and clear communication. A great guide ensures guests do not just see animals, but understand what they are seeing. We are proud that he represented Gosheni Safaris during your journey. As a 100% locally owned Tanzanian tour operator, we manage our own fleet and work with professional local guides. This allows us to maintain high standards, consistent quality, and direct operational control. It also ensures that tourism revenue supports local employment and communities here in Tanzania. We are honored to be one of the most awarded safari companies in Tanzania. These recognitions come from years of consistent service, reliable operations, and strong guest satisfaction — reviews like yours are a big part of that. Thank you again for your recommendation. You are always welcome back to Tanzania for another safari adventure.

Great experience with wonderful guide Ombeni
This is my first time to visit Tanzania and I had a lot of good memories here with my friends. We had an eight days trip with our guide Ombeni. He is very experienced and full of knowledge. Ombeni told us many interesting stories about aninals as well as the history of Tanzania. We also saw a lot of animals such as lions, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, gazelles, etc. I'm sure I'll be back to this amazing land again. Serengeti shall never die.
Response from the operator: Dear Nancy, Thank you sincerely for taking your valuable time to share this review. After returning home from travel, life becomes busy again, so when a guest chooses to write about their experience, we truly appreciate it. We are very happy your first visit to Tanzania left you with such strong memories. Eight days on safari allows guests to move beyond quick sightings and really understand the rhythm of the land — and that is where a good guide makes the difference. Ombeni is one of our most experienced professionals, and your description reflects exactly who he is. Knowledgeable, calm, and deeply connected to both wildlife and Tanzanian history. A great guide does not only point at animals; he explains behavior, migration patterns, predator dynamics, and cultural context. When stories are shared properly, the safari becomes meaningful, not just visual. Seeing lions, leopards, buffalo, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, gazelles and more over eight days shows strong tracking skills and good daily planning. Big cats especially require patience, positioning, and understanding of territory. Ombeni’s experience in reading the bush is what delivers those moments. Your final words — “Serengeti shall never die” — capture the spirit of this land perfectly. It is a place that stays with you long after you leave. As a locally owned company, we are proud to share our country through dedicated guides like Ombeni. Thank you again for your trust and your recommendation. We will be ready to welcome you back when you return to this amazing land.

Excellent experience with Ombeni
Great experience with Gosheni Safaris and our guide Ombeni, who is very professional and knowledgeable. High recommend Ombeni and Gosheni Safaris.
Response from the operator: Dear Haiyan, Thank you for your kind review and for choosing Gosheni Safaris for your trip. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We are very pleased to hear that you had an excellent safari with Ombeni. He is a highly professional and experienced guide who takes his work seriously. Knowledge of wildlife, park geography, and animal behavior is important — but delivering that knowledge clearly and patiently to guests is what makes a difference. Ombeni consistently does both. Professional guiding also means safe and controlled driving, good vehicle positioning for sightings, and maintaining strong communication in the field so guests do not miss important wildlife moments. We are proud that he represented Gosheni Safaris to that standard during your journey. Thank you again for your recommendation. It was a pleasure hosting you, and you are always welcome back to Tanzania for another adventure.

Great experience with guide Ombeni
This is my second time with Gosheni Safaris and guide Ombeni. Ombeni is very responsible and professional. He would help other vehicles when they are stuck in the mud. He would tell other tourists not to feed the wild animals and birds in the picnic site. He is a very experienced guide and driver, helping us to see the big 5, ugly 5, big cats and many more. Highly recommend Ombeni and Gosheni Safaris.
Response from the operator: Dear Angela, Jambo From Gosheni Safaris Welcome back and thank you for choosing Gosheni Safaris again. A returning guest is the strongest vote of confidence we can receive. We are especially proud to hear your continued praise for Ombeni , Responsibility in the field is not just about driving and spotting animals. It is about leadership, ethics, and professionalism. Helping other vehicles when they are stuck in the mud shows teamwork and experience. In the parks, conditions can change quickly, especially during rainy periods. A guide who understands terrain, traction, and safe recovery techniques is a valuable presence — not just for his own guests, but for others as well. Your comment about him discouraging tourists from feeding wildlife is equally important. Protecting the ecosystem is part of being a true professional guide. Feeding animals at picnic sites creates long-term behavioral problems and safety risks. A guide who actively protects park rules is someone who respects both wildlife and the integrity of the safari experience. Of course, strong ethics must be matched with performance. Seeing the Big Five, the “Ugly Five,” big cats, and more reflects solid tracking skills, good positioning, and proper use of timing and communication. Ombeni combines calm driving, sharp observation, and deep knowledge of animal behavior — which is why many guests request him specifically. As a locally owned company operating our own fleet, we depend on experienced guides like Ombeni to represent our standards in the field. We are proud of the way he continues to deliver. Thank you again for your loyalty and recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you back for a third adventure.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.
How much does 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder cost?

How long does 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.
Is 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 271 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder?
+
Around 95 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 8-Day Calving Season Safari – Witness Nature’s Greatest Wonder start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Moshi?
+
On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Moshi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Moshi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
