About this experience
Langtang valley, known as "The valley of glaciers", is one of the popular closest trekking regions from Kathmandu. Langtang valley trekking is a narrow valley which lies between the main Himalayan range to the north, bordering Tibet and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. A visit to the Langtang region offers an opportunity to explore typical villages, bag small peaks and visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. Nepal Langtang valley hiking gives you the opportunity to get right in among the Himalayan peaks and to get off-the-beaten-track, walking through some fascinatingly remote and relatively unpopulated areas.

Langtang Valley Trek
I had an incredible experience with Outdoor Himalayan for my Langtang Valley trek. Despite booking the trek just one day in advance, they were extremely accommodating and made all the arrangements seamlessly.. I embarked on the trek solo, guided by Rapuk, whose expertise and easy-going nature made the journey truly memorable. His competency was evident at every step. He struck the perfect balance between being a great companion when I wanted to chat and giving me space when I needed it, which made the experience both joyful and personal. We completed the trek in 4 days instead of the usual 6, as I was eager to push myself. Rapuk was incredibly supportive and flexible, allowing me to set my own pace and decide our daily goals. There was never any pressure; instead, he encouraged me to enjoy the trek on my terms, which made it all the more fulfilling. I highly recommend Outdoor Himalayan and Rapuk for anyone considering trekking in Nepal. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Nature's Glory at Langtang Valley Trek
My wife and I have recently completed our Langtang Valley Trekking from late May to early June 2023, arranged by Outdoor Himalayan Treks. This is our second time trekking in Nepal and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This time, it was an entirely different experience - for us, Langtang Valley trekking was indeed " Nature at its very Best " The panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges, clean crisp mountain air against a background of the call of nature (chirping of birds, continuous gush of the river/streams, cries of the deer in the night). Walking along lush bamboo forests dotted with pretty flowers, encounters with families of yak, monkeys, mules ..an amazing sight. The sheer absence of technology / internet up in the mountains was quite a different feeling! The trekking in Langtang was raw, rugged...oneness with nature. For the first two days we were going uphill with average vertical gains of 1000m each day and hitting 3300m on day 3. Steep ascents very often on narrow paths, laden with rocks, stones, and crossing streams required deft and steady footwork. What goes up must come down..steep descents were a toll on our knees. The air gets thinner as we climb higher, thank goodness we had paced ourselves throughout the trek and we were blessed with excellent weather. My wife continued and reached the peak of Kyanjin 1 at 4400m, where she enjoyed the great sense of accomplishment and the glorious breathtaking views! The funny thing was, sharing with her moment of joy at the peak appeared angels ...two friendly dogs ! The beauty of nature is also present in the professional and experienced handling of both our guide and porter. Our guide, Subba is very experienced and was most attentive to our needs. Together with our young and strong porter, Madhov, they were a wonderful pair. In moments, when I thought I was going to slip down the terrain, a quick hand would be there to support me. Will always remember the wise words of our guide.."Take baby steps and follow the mule". The warm hospitality of our hosts at the guesthouses provided us with a glimpse of the local Tibetan culture. The simplicity and beauty of nature !

Best trek yet!
I just returned from a 10-day trek through the Langtang Valley and Gosainkunda Lake. I have trekked many times in Nepal, including two other trips with this company. This was my favorite experience yet! My guide Rupak and my porter Brokus were outstanding! Rupak was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive to my safety, and kept me laughing even through challenging times. When Rupak realized that I was capable of more than what was on the itinerary, he provided me with options of how to modify my remaining days. The result was an experience of a lifetime! All of the staff I have worked with are amazing. Badri has developed all of my treks with keen attention to detail and great professionalism. Dilli has been an excellent guide as well.

Wonderful experience in Nepal
I had the pleasure to do two trekkings with Outdoor Himalaya. Firstly Langtang and because I was so satisfied I did a few weeks later Poonhill and Ghandruk with them as well. Everything went very smoothly and everyone was very kind. The planning was adapted to my wishes, Rammani regularly checked-in on me to see if everything was good and both guides I had, Krishna and then Bhawana, were very attentive, full of knowledge and so lovely. The porters I had the honour to meet were incredibly nice, funny and extremly helpful. Before and after the trekking Outdoor Himalaya organized some activities as well according to my wishes. I highly recommend Rammani and his team for organizing trekkings and other activities in Nepal.

Stunning Langtang trek with the best guide!
My girlfriend and I had the most amazing time during our Langtang Trek thanks to our top guide, Rupak! The views were incredible and it was so great to be deep within the jungles of the Himalayas where we saw wildlife such as Monkeys, Deer, Mountain Goats, Yak, Mules, Birds, Butterflies and Bees - including their impressive beehives. We have also never eaten so well in our lives thanks to the seemingly bottomless Daal Bats from every Tea Hut and accommodation along the way. All of which contained locally and organically grown vegetables. Having Rupak as our guide we were constantly assured that everything was going to plan in terms of timings and we were - of course - always on the right track. Safety was always at the forefront with Rupak and he took great care of us, we always felt safe and secure. After the days trek we played cards and Rupak taught us some new games which we will take with us on all of our future adventures. All in all, it was a once in a lifetime experience. One that we will never forget. Thank you Outdoor Himalayan Treks and thank you Rupak, hope to see you again in the future for another trip!

7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu cost?
+
Prices start at $467 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 192-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 7 Days Langtang Valley Private Trek From Kathmandu start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
