Cusco / Machu Picchu/ rainbow mountain / humantay lake

Our guide Henry Rodriguez and driver Carmelo were excellent! Henry was a wealth of knowledge, patient and kind, Took great pictures of the group and could cater for our group whose ages ranged from 9 to 75! Carmelo was very good a navigating traffic, always on time and looked after us very well. The tour was arranged such that you could acclimatise and it wasn’t too hard on your body. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear Henry and Carmelo made your experience so special. Hope to welcome you again soon!

Grateful for the Team that Guided us Through Peru

We just finished an 8-day/7 night private tour around Peru (May 12-19), and although we were assigned different guides and drivers along the way, the 2 people who really carried us through most of the trip was Rafael (our guide) and Arturo (our driver). Rafael had a pace that really worked for us. He never rushed us through the sites - we had time to take photos, look around, and actually enjoy where we were. He explained the history of the Incas in a way that was easy to follow, and he used photo books to show us details about their culture and architecture that we would not have noticed on our own. He pointed out great spots for photos to us (some of our favorite pictures came from his suggestions) and he helped us figure out fair prices when we wanted to buy souvenirs. He was also incredibly patient and did not mind repeating the answers to our questions which he had already previously answered (at our age, our memory lapses were often). Arturo handled the driving and if you have seen the roads around Cusco and the Sacred Valley, you would know how important it is that you would need an experienced driver. He was steady and calm the whole time, even with traffic and random road closures and detours. He was punctual - he showed up for our 5:30am pickup for the Machu Picchu train schedule and again for our 4:30am start to Humantay Lake (which ended up being a very long day). Our bucket list trip was made more memorable because of the care that they put into each day and we are really grateful.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re truly happy to know that Rafael and Arturo helped make your 8-day journey so memorable. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the pacing, explanations, and overall care throughout your trip. We will gladly share your kind words with them. It was a pleasure having you in Peru, and we hope to welcome you again in the future!

Great Wonder World Trip

Kantu Peru Tours was recommended to us by a fellow traveler and he didn’t disappoint. The service team of Mary and David were always helpful. The tours were well paced and organized. The included buffets were great. The hotels were comfortable and clean. We had the best driver in Arturo who got us to our destinations on time and comfortably. We got the best tour guide in Rafael who was very accommodating and knowledgeable. And of course, the highlight was Machu Picchu and we spent 2 days there because Kantu itineraries are very customizable. The tour guides they picked on both days, Andrei and Miguel were the best specialists for Machu. Kantu even booked us the front seats on the first rail car in our Vistadome train going to Machu. That means there is no one on front of us and we have a full window view in front and on the side. Kantu is also very reasonable in their pricing. We would definitely use them again if we were to return to Machu Picchu someday.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to know you enjoyed your experience and that Mary, David, Arturo, Rafael, Andrei, and Miguel helped make your trip so special. It’s great to hear you enjoyed Machu Picchu and the Vistadome experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in Peru!

Excellent 7-Day Private Tour for Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain

We were referred by our friend, who used Kantu Peru Tours in June 2025. For our family of 5, we requested a private, customized 7-day/6-night tour through Kantu, and they delivered. The itinerary is: Cusco City Tour part 1, Zoo Cochahuasi - Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Maras Moray and Chinchero, Machu Picchu circuit 2, Rainbow Mountain with motorcycle, Ausangate 7 lake with horse, Casco City Tour part 2. David from customer services met us warmly at the Cusco airport. The van was roomy, and the hotels were good. Our private team, with tour guide Elias and driver Ruben, was efficient and wonderful. They took good care of us and made our trip super senior-friendly. We enjoyed Elias Inca's stories very much. Ruben's driving is safe and careful throughout the very rough roads in Peru. Special thanks to Elias's first-aid skills during a fall accident and the team's calm handling. I am now referring them to my friends who plan on visiting Machu Picchu later this September.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review! It truly means a lot to us that you trusted Kantu Peru Tours with your family trip. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the itinerary and that David, Elias, and Ruben made your experience comfortable, safe, and memorable especially taking great care of your group. We will be sure to share your special words with them We also sincerely appreciate your recommendation to your friends. We hope to welcome you again in the future!

7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $1013 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour take?

+

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 168-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 7-Day Private Guided Sacred Valley Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
