    EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME

I cannot recommend this trip enough. It was truly the experience of a lifetime, and every part of it exceeded my expectations. The views were absolutely breathtaking, the itinerary was incredible, and the entire experience was unforgettable. What made the trip especially memorable was our guide, Shaka. He was friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and made everyone feel completely comfortable from the beginning. He took on the role of chef, driver, guide, paramedic, photographer, storyteller, and entertainer. By the end of the trip, he felt less like a guide and more like a good friend. Shaka brought so much energy and personality to the experience, and it simply would not have been the same without him. I am incredibly grateful for all the memories and will truly miss him. This was easily one of the best trips I have ever taken.

Response from the operator: Hi Brett, Thank you for this generous review. We are so glad the Sossusvlei and Etosha experiences with us exceeded your expectations and felt like one of the best trips you have taken, from the views through to the itinerary itself. Shaka will be deeply happy to read this. It means a great deal that he made everyone comfortable from the start, carried so many roles along the way, and felt like a friend by the end, not only a guide. We will pass your thanks, and your goodbye, on to him. Thank you for travelling with Chameleon Safaris. Kind regards, Gavin

6 wonderful days on the Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari

The 6-day tour was incredible and, thanks to our guide Skaka, absolutely perfect! He took us safely to all these beautiful places and had so much to tell us about everything. The camp was always perfectly organized, and the food was absolutely delicious. He made sure, that all our needs were taken care of during the tour. Skaka even cooked vegetarian meals for me - it was just great! We had so much fun as a group, and I would travel with Chameleon again anytime- especially with Shaka as our guide. A huge thank you for this unforgettable experience!

We are so glad the 6 Day Sand, Sea and Etosha Budget Camping Safari felt perfect, from the driving and the camp through to the food and the group itself. Shaka will be very happy to read this. A perfect escape

It was a great escape, camping through Namibia for 6 days was a great experience, walking on those sand dunes waiting for the sunrise was very peaceful. In Walvis bay where the desert meets the ocean was amazing. Our guides/drivers Chaka and Simon were great always making sure we were enjoying our trip, this was a very small group only two of us and two more guys that joined toreare the end of the tour, we all got along well and we had a great time. By the way Chaka is a good cook.

6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Windhoek.

How much does 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $1569 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Windhoek usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Windhoek is not rushed.

Is 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 51 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Windhoek, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 144-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Windhoek can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Windhoek and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 6 Day Sand, Sea & Etosha Budget Camping Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Windhoek within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Windhoek?

    +

On Outty we rank every Windhoek experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Windhoek City Tour, Windhoek Historical City Tour Plus Township Tour !, Half-Day Windhoek City and Township Cultural Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Windhoek?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Windhoek?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
