6 Day Rainbow Mountain and Ausangate Trek-Amazing Experience!
We booked the 6 day Rainbow Mountain and Ausangate Trek through Flashpacker Connect. They were very responsive, clear in communication, and did an excellent job of planning and adapting to our group's specific needs for the trip. We were very happy with the company itself. What really had us impressed was the team that was with us on the trek. Fredy the guide, William and Jose the cooks, and Tomas and Eloterio the horsemen were such an amazing group of human beings and the trek wouldn't have been the same without them. They had such genuine friendliness and were supportive, fun, patient, and everything that makes a team great. The food was incredible, the energy was always positive and fun, and Fredy was such a wealth of local knowledge and did an outstanding job at making our trek the best it could be. He's even good with a camera! When we return to Peru we will request the same team for any trek they are available. The trek itself was also incredible. The views were some of the best we've seen anywhere in the world, there were very few people, and every day was different so it never got repetitive. What surprised us is that, even though we took a side hike to visit Vinicunca the popular rainbow mountain, we saw at least five other isolated rainbow mountains during the trek! We have been using Flashpacker Connect for several trips now, and each time they come through with an incredible experience. This was no exception and we highly recommend using them for any treks in Peru. And try to get Fredy as a guide, he's absolutely the best!!

Highly recommend this trek!! Once in a lifetime
Raul and Felipe were incredible guides to our trek. They made the trip fun, kept our spirits high as we pushed through the altitude struggles, and taught us SO much about traditions and history of the area. The food was the most incredible spread we could have ever expected. Three meals a day kept our bellies satiated. This trip was the perfect combination of physical and mental challenge and being spoiled with the hospitality and incredible views. It takes an army to make this happen. Everyone works so hard - very special experience.

Amazing 6 days around Ausangate
I had a great week with AB expeditions. Well organized, great food, well guided. Thank you to my guides Felipe Sr y Felipe Jr, to our cooks, Mario, Martin and Anny and our hard working horsemens Fernando and Mario. Sarah

Memories for life
Wow what a great trek! I will have memories of this for ever. Felipao and Felipe were great guides but my hat really must come off to the hard work performed by the chefs Martin, Mario and Anny who performed culinary magic with the basic equipment they had to hand. My girlfriend and I are vegetarian and we never went hungry. They even managed to make a cake on a gas stove! Besides the food, the horseman (Fernando and Mario) made the trip as comfortable as possible. They were erecting and dismantling tents, carrying bags, tending to horses etc and they all did so with great smiles and humour. The group was like a family for the week.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect cost?
+
Prices start at $1,050 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect take?
+
Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 144-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6 day Rainbow Mountain x Ausangate Trek - FlashpackerConnect start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
