Terrible Communication
Peru is a magical country. Truly. The people, the culture, the landscapes… everything was everything I imagined and more. And the food? 10/10 without question. Now, let’s talk about Runas Trip Peru. Overall rating: 3/10. At first, everything felt solid. I booked a 6-day tour covering Cusco, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, and more. After booking, they were quick and organized in collecting my information, which gave me confidence that I was in good hands. But that quickly changed. About a week before my trip, I reached out via WhatsApp (their main form of communication) to confirm everything was set. No response. I followed up 2 days later—still nothing. At this point, I started getting concerned, so I reached out through Viator. I finally got a reply a day later—now only 4 days before my trip—saying their WhatsApp had been hacked and giving me a new number. I contacted the new number… and again, no response. I texted multiple times, even called—nothing. I didn’t hear back until 2 days before my trip, when they finally reassured me everything was set. I also asked if my personal information (passport details, etc.) had been compromised—no response to that at all. I decided to trust the process. When I arrived in Cusco, I was picked up and taken to my hotel without issues. So far, so good. But communication remained a problem. I reached out about my first tour that same day—no response. Eventually, I met with a representative in person. She was kind, but clearly overwhelmed. The information she gave was vague—“someone will call you,” “someone will pick you up”—with no real clarity on who, when, or how. The tours themselves? Great. The guides were knowledgeable and engaging—honestly an 8/10 experience there. But the logistics and communication? Terrible. For the first couple of tours, I was picked up from my hotel and the guides communicated well. After that, everything fell apart. I was never told the next day’s schedule ahead of time. I had to chase down information constantly, often getting responses late at night—even when pickups were at 3:30am. Then came the breaking point. For my Lake Humantay tour, I woke up at 3:00am for a scheduled 3:30–4:00am pickup. I waited. No message. No call. I reached out—no response. I kept texting… nothing. By 4:45am, I gave up and went back to sleep, frustrated. At 7:00am, I followed up again. The response I got? “Sorry, what time did they pick you up?” I was still at the hotel. That’s when I lost all confidence. They tried to make up for it by offering a free extra tour and rearranging my schedule, but it didn’t align with my flight. I ended up cramming things in, rushing back to the airport, and even renting motorbikes on my own dime just to make it work. Bottom line: The destinations are incredible. Peru is unforgettable. But the disorganization, lack of communication, and stress caused by Runas Trip Peru took away from what should have been a seamless experience. I will not be using this tour company again.
Response from the operator: Dear Junior Gomez Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and for choosing Runas Trip Peru for your journey through Peru. First of all, we are truly happy to know that you enjoyed Peru, its people, culture, landscapes, and especially the tours themselves. It means a lot to us that you highlighted the quality of our guides and the beauty of the destinations, as creating memorable experiences in Peru is our main goal. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the frustration and stress caused by the communication issues and logistical mistakes during your trip. We fully understand how important clear communication and proper coordination are, especially when traveling in a new country, and we recognize that in your case, we did not meet the level of service you expected and deserved. Regarding the WhatsApp issue, unfortunately, our main business number was compromised during that period, which affected our response times and created confusion with several reservations. However, we understand that this should not have impacted your experience to this extent, and we take full responsibility for not providing faster and clearer support through alternative channels. We are especially sorry about the Humantay Lake tour situation. Missing a scheduled pickup is unacceptable, and we understand why that became the breaking point of your trust in us. Although we tried to offer alternatives and compensation, we know this did not fully make up for the inconvenience and the stress it caused during your vacation. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us because it helps us improve. Since then, we have strengthened our internal coordination, improved backup communication channels, and reinforced our operational follow-up to prevent situations like this from happening again. We truly regret that your experience with our operations did not match the beauty of the destinations you visited. We appreciate your honesty and the opportunity to learn from this. We wish you all the best and hope that, despite these difficulties, Peru remains a beautiful memory for you. Sincerely, Runas Trip Peru

Opinion Tour Cusco
Mainly, the places we visit are magical, it is a wonder to see all the landscapes and places Cusco has, we came back in love with the city and the sites, Machu Picchu is beautiful, and as I mentioned, the arrival and passage between the mountains make the road something magical. The attention of the whole agency was amazing, picked up door to door, advice with places, guides, friendliness of all the people, caught us incredibly. It goes without saying that we were with a baby of 1 1/2 years, and all the guides on each tour gave us the time and space to be aware of their needs, additionally when climbing the mountain, the guide was always super attentive to the state of health of our baby. We returned to our country, delighted and in love with everything we enjoyed that even made us that the time we were there was very short. We were very much looking forward and wanting to come back and enjoy a little more cusco.

6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain cost?
+
Prices start at $571 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain take?
+
Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 144-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6-Day Tour of Cusco Magico-Machu Picchu-Rainbow Mountain start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
