Our Week in Oman with World Class Guide Musab
My wife and I visited Oman back in November and I genuinely cannot say enough good things about the experience. If you're on the fence about visiting Oman—just go. And if you can book Musab as your guide, do it immediately. We're both New Yorkers who had never been to the Arabian Peninsula before and we weren't sure what to expect. It was even my wife’s first time in a majority Muslim country. Any concerns we had evaporated within the first hour of meeting Musab. He looked after us the entire trip—we felt and were 100% safe and taken care of from start to finish. Oman is breathtaking, welcoming, and vastly underrated. Musab made it even better. About Musab: This guy is the real deal. He's in his early 30s, did his graduate studies in the US, and speaks completely fluent English—zero communication issues whatsoever. But what really sets him apart is his deep knowledge of Omani history, politics, and culture. Every question we threw at him (and we asked A LOT), he answered with insight and context that you'd never get from a guidebook. His takes were also particularly interesting because of his familiarity with western and American culture: super cool to compare and contrast our lifestyles and governance. Besides his abilities as a guide, he’s also just a really cool, good guy - we’re still in touch months after our trip. He's also an excellent driver both when navigating Muscat traffic and tearing across the Wahiba Sands dunes like a pro - important when your guide is also in charge of your transport!! Our Itinerary: Day 1 – Muscat: We hit the Grand Mosque, explored the souks and fish-markets, then visited some topt tier museums that gave us the perfect foundation for understanding Oman. It was so helpful having Musab there to give us additional context, background (and negotiation tips!) around everything we saw. Day 2 – Coast to Desert: Bimmah Sinkhole was stunning, but Wadi Shab was the real showstopper—Musab knew all the best spots along the hike. That afternoon, he took us to an incredible seaside restaurant in Sur (local, authentic, delicious) before we drove into the Wahiba Sands for a night in the desert. Day 3 – Wadi Bani Khalid to Nizwa: Another gorgeous Wadi, then a scenic drive through the desert to the historic city of Nizwa. The drive was long but honestly flew by hearing about how modern culture in Oman and learning more about the history of the Sultanate. Days 4 & 5 – Mountain Villages & Forts: This was a highlight for us. Musab took us through the stunning mountain villages and ancient forts around Nizwa—places we never would have found on our own. He knew every hidden gem and photo-worthy viewpoint. Oman is incredible but having a world class guide like Musab really takes the experience and ease to the next level. Cannot recommend him highly enough.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review and for visiting Oman with us. We are very happy you enjoyed exploring the wadis, desert, mountains, and heritage sites of our country. It was a pleasure sharing Oman’s culture and history with you, and we hope to welcome you again in the future. Muayad +968 9425 9459 | Musab +968 9653 2326 | authentic.tour.om@gmail.com

Wonderful Friends trip!
Thank you Musab and his team for a timely organising of our trip with catering our requests. We appreciated the google calls before to familiarise ourselves with the itinerary. Mahmood was a gem of guide - kind, careful, understanding and organised. We couldn't ask for a better company during our (girls) trip. All our requests were met, and the length of each visit was well timed for us. The experience was great - would recommend this to everyone (who doesn't drive) but wants a bespoke experience to feel safe and cared for. We were so grateful to have gone with an agency during these times and help us assist after our trip with urgent accommodation and help on local matters to feel as safe as possible.
Response from the operator: We’re glad you enjoyed Oman with us and had a memorable experience, and we hope to welcome you again | Muayad +968 9425 9459 | Musab +968 9653 2326 | authentic.tour.om@gmail.com

Sports, cultural and historical adventure
Already during the itinerary préparation we felt our wishes were heard and the team planned for us a great 6-days route filled with lots of activities and adventures while making sure that we enjoy the spots before the crowds. The driver Mahmoud made the trip memorable and comfortable for us. We all had fun!

Amazing Omanp
This trip was fantastic. Arafat & Yazin, our Guide and Driver were knowledgeable and fun to travel with. They shared insights to Omani culture and history that we would not have been aware of otherwise. Nizwah and its surrounds was a highlight, especially the Friday Goat Market being an added extra. Jabal Akhdar is also very beautiful and interesting to visit the many historical old villages in the area. Highly recommended.

Discovering the true spirit of Oman 🇴🇲
We booked this trip to Oman with a friend in November 2025 and honestly had the most amazing time. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, but what really made the difference were the two guides (and creators of this agency). They are truly passionate, incredibly kind, and genuinely eager to share their culture, country, and love for Oman. Over five days, we travelled across Oman and discovered so many cultural and culinary treasures. Every stop felt thoughtful and authentic, far from mass tourism, and always adapted to our group. You can really feel that they want you to experience Oman, not just visit it. Special mention for the karak tea, which quickly became a daily essential and the perfect way to start our mornings ☕️ — a small detail, but one that says a lot about how immersed we were in local life. If you are looking for a simple, human, and authentic way to enjoy Oman, I can only highly recommend them. An unforgettable journey with wonderful people — thank you for the memories!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the kind words. We’re glad you experienced the true spirit of Oman and enjoyed the journey—it was a pleasure hosting you, and you’re always welcome back. Muayad +968 9425 9459 | Musab +968 9653 2326 | authentic.tour.om@gmail.com

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Muscat.
How much does 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage cost?
+
Prices start at $2296 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Muscat usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage take?
+
Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Muscat is not rushed.
Is 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Muscat, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 144-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Muscat can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Muscat and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6-Day Private Tour of Wadis, Desert, Mountains & Heritage start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Muscat within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Muscat?
+
On Outty we rank every Muscat experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Private Muscat City Tour - Top Landmarks in Just 4 Hours, Wadi Shab and Bimmah Sinkhole Group Full Day Tour, Daymaniyat Islands Snorkeling Sharing Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Muscat?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Muscat?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
