2. Dom Luis I Bridge

   The mythical bridge! Transport and communications architecture, 19th century. 19. 3. Ponte Infante Dom Henrique

   The Infante D. Henrique Bridge was inaugurated on March 30, 2003. Ponte Infante Dom Henrique, also known as Ponte do Infante, is a road bridge that connects Vila Nova de Gaia to Porto, over the Douro River, in Portugal. Named in honor of Infante D. Henrique, born in Porto, it is the most recent bridge connecting Porto and Gaia.

4. Ponte da Arrabida

   Ponte da Arrábida is an arch bridge over the Douro River that connects Porto (through the Arrábida area) to Vila Nova de Gaia (through the Candal junction), in Portugal. Since the 1930s, it was necessary to create alternative connections to the old bridges (D. Maria Pia and D. Luís bridges) in order to respond to the growing flow of road traffic. 5. Ponte D. Maria Pia

   The D. Maria Pia Bridge is a railway infrastructure that carried the Northern Line over the Douro River, between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, in the north of Portugal. It was inaugurated on November 4, 1877 and closed on June 24, 1991, having been replaced by the São João Bridge. It is considered, along with the Garabit Viaduct, as the greatest masterpieces executed by the engineer Gustave Eiffel. At the time of its inauguration, it was the bridge with the largest iron arch in the world. It has been classified as a National Monument since 1982.

6. Ponte de Sao Joao

   The Ponte de São João is a railway infrastructure that transports the Northern Line over the Douro River, next to the city of Porto, in Portugal. Built to replace the already centenary Ponte D. Maria Pia, it entered service on June 24, 1991.

7. Cais De Gaia

   Cais de Gaia is a tourist area with terraces, restaurants and bars, located on the left bank of the Douro River, in Vila Nova de Gaia, opposite the historic area of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Portugal.

8. Cais da Ribeira

   Ribeira is one of the oldest and most typical places in the city of Porto, in Portugal. Located in the parish of São Nicolau, next to the Douro River, it is part of the Historic Center of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is currently an area very frequented by tourists and a concentration of bars and restaurants. In Ribeira, Praça da Ribeira, popularly also known as Praça do Cubo, deserves special mention; Rua da Fonte Taurina, one of the oldest in the city; the Muro dos Bacalhoeiros and the Casa do Infante, where it is believed that Infante D. Henrique was born in 1394. It was in this area of Porto that one of the most charismatic figures of the city lived, the so-called Duke of Ribeira, known for having saved several people from drowning.

9. Alfandega Porto Congress Centre

   The building was ordered to be built on September 25, 1859, on Miragaia beach, according to a project by the French architect Jean-François Colson, its first nucleus being inaugurated in 1869 and construction completed ten years later. Its construction involved the construction of the huge platform on the pier where the Customs House is based and which replaced the old beach of Miragaia. In addition, in order to facilitate the transport of goods, Customs and Campanhã Station were connected by a railway branch (Ramal da Alfândega) in 1888, with the opening of Rua Nova da Alfândega.

10. Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar

    The Monastery of Serra do Pilar was created after the reform of the Order of Augustinians, when the monks of the monastery of Grijó were transferred to the new location. Construction of this new monastery began in 1537, which features a plan consisting of the church, circular in plan, the chancel, rectangular in plan, and the cloister, also circular in plan, all arranged sequentially. It is considered one of the most notable buildings of classical European architecture due to its circular church and cloister. In 1809 the space of the monastery was occupied by Wellington's troops, when the Portuguese army's attack on the city of Porto, then occupied by Napoleon's troops, was planned. During the 20th century, the monastery was the object of several conservation and restoration campaigns and is included in the Historic Center of Porto, inscribed by Unesco on the World Heritage List.
