Wonderful day cycling past Kyoto's highlights

Exploring a city by bike lets you experience it in a completely different way, and this fantastic tour proved exactly that! It was a very hot day, but being on the bike gave us a refreshing breeze along the way. We had an amazing guide, Cas, who was knowledgeable, kept a great pace, and made the tour both fun and informative. We had a wonderful day cycling past Kyoto's highlights (and Cas showed some hiden gems as well). This is a tour you absolutely shouldn't miss!

Great way to see a lot of Kyoto in one day

Our full day bike tour was on May 22, 2026. There were six people total in our group, including my family of three adults. Rick was an amazing guide, very informative, and took great care of everyone. This is the best way to see a lot of Kyoto in one day. We got really lucky with beautiful weather. The bikes were in good shape, and I had an e-bike, which was well worth the extra cost. Rick made sure that everyone got a picture at each stop. A delicious lunch was included. My family and I highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Rick and Kyoto Bike Tour!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re delighted that you and your family had such a great experience exploring Kyoto with Rick. Covering so many of the city’s highlights by bike is a wonderful way to experience Kyoto, and we’re pleased you enjoyed the beautiful weather, the included lunch, and the well-maintained bikes. We’re also pleased to hear you found the e-bike upgrade well worth it. Guests can choose between our traditional bikes or an optional e-bike upgrade, depending on the riding experience they’re looking for. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Kyoto for another adventure! Kind regards, Kyoto Bike Tour

Fantastic way to see Kyoto in a day

We had an awesome day cycling around Kyoto! The cycle tour is a fantastic way to experience so much of the city in a short amount of time. The riding was easy, with plenty of stops along the way, so even when the weather turned, it never felt like we’d covered 43 km. We loved biking through the back streets and seeing the real Kyoto not just the tourist hotspots. Lunch was delicious, and a nice break from cycling. Our guide Rick, was outstanding. He was incredibly friendly and we learnt so much of Kyoto and Japanese history and culture. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the highlights of Kyoto while learning some history and culture.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed exploring Kyoto by bike and experiencing both the city’s famous highlights and its quieter backstreets. Our goal is to show guests a side of Kyoto they might otherwise miss while creating a relaxed and enjoyable day on two wheels. Thank you as well for your kind words about Rick. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed learning about Kyoto’s history and culture, and that the ride, lunch, and pacing all helped make the day so memorable. Thank you for your kind recommendation. We hope to ride together again on your next visit to Kyoto! Kind regards, Kyoto Bike Tour

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.

How much does 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option) cost?

    +

Prices start at $28000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option) take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.

Is 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 570 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option)?

    +

Around 200 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5 Top Highlights of Kyoto Full Day Bike Tour (E-bike option) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kyoto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kyoto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kyoto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
