Salkantay trekking
It was a good experience. Erika always answering the questions. In the walks for acclimatization also occurred tudp right. Only one point of attention that was not communicated that the exchange was the company that ceded and logistics the suitcase was not explained in advance. Revome than at Trekking 5 days, pick up the dufle bag at the hotel in Aguas Calientes. I recommend the company.
Response from the operator: gracias por tu apreciación pronto retorno que Peru no solo es Machu Picchu tiene mucho que conocer!

Unbeatable Trekking! 🇵🇪
One of the most amazing experiences of contact with nature we have ever experienced. The agency salkantay trek Peru was very professional, always clear with all the information, open to dispel any doubts, great attention from everyone. Mainly Erika who was the one who guided us before, during and after booking everything and Alfredo who was the mountain guide along with the whole team. They made this the best adventure of our lives. Some natural unforeseen events arose and they solved everything with great speed and professionalism. I highly recommend it.

Great experience in the Salkantay Trek
We have done the Salkantay Trek 5 days and 4 nights with Salkantay Trail and, sincerely, it has been an amazing experience. We want to thank Erika, the organizer, for the dedication and love with which she prepared everything. You can see the work behind it and the experience it has given us has been 10. And, above all, our guide Zenobio, who has been much more than a guide: practically part of the family throughout the trekking. Always attentive, close and explaining every detail of the tour. In my case, I even had a problem in my knee and was on the lookout at all times, helping me with cream, massage and lending me her canes so that I could continue as comfortably as possible. A true professional and a great person. We also want to highlight how much we value sleeping in hotels rather than camps, which made the experience much more comfortable. The food throughout the trek was very good and everything was perfectly organized. In general, we can only say good things. It has been a magnificent experience that we recommend 100%. We would certainly repeat.

Salkantay Trek Do It with Local Trekkers
One of the main reasons for visiting Peru was to challenge ourselves to a trek into the Andean mountains. With only 2 weeks to play with we opted for a 5 day – 4 nights through the Salkantay Trek'. We came across Local Trekkers Peru, Alberto the manager he literally catered for our ever need, answering all our questions and was able to pair us up with the best Guide we could have hoped for, in an incredibly short space of time; Wilber We cannot recommend him highly enough! We gained so much knowledge from talking to Wilber over the 5 days. We felt so lucky to have him! Over the course of 5 days we experienced rapid river streams, waterfalls, cold weather, sweltering hot sunshine, rain, jungle, 4 different campsite and many many steps up and then down. It was a test of our endurance, but Wuilber gave us lots of opportunities to rest, ensuring that we were drinking enough of water and offering us fruits, coca leaves to support the height and chocolates to keep us going. The food provided for Local Trekkers Peru was very good, Timoteo the Master Chef of the Andes was Amazing, he did very good food for enough for everyone in the group, always served in a buffet style, he was always happy and good humor, thanks Timoteo your food was the best. It truly was a remarkable trekking experience and we are so thankful to the Local Trekkers Peru team, for arranging it for us and of course, to Wilber, for being our perfect guide and friend. Who knows... Next time could be other treks around Cusco for us.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu cost?
+
Prices start at $480 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu?
+
Included: Private transportation. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 383 listed pickup locations in and around Cusco. Be ready about 40 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu offered in?
+
It is offered in German, Portuguese, English, Italian, French and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
Is 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu wheelchair or stroller accessible?
