An unforgettable experience in Peru with South Adventure Peru Tours! 🇵🇪⛰️

We did the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu with South Adventure Peru Tours, as well as the Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain, and the whole experience was simply incredible. A special thank you to our guides, Rubens and Augusto, who truly made a difference throughout the trip. Besides being knowledgeable and professional, they were extremely attentive, supportive, and always mindful of the group’s pace and well-being. The Salkantay Trek is a challenging experience — several days of hiking, high altitude, cold weather, constantly changing conditions, and plenty of physical effort — and having guides you can trust completely transforms the experience. Rubens and Augusto managed to combine safety, organization, local knowledge and, most importantly, a great sense of humor and companionship throughout the entire journey. The Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain were the perfect additions to the trip, allowing us to experience even more of Peru’s incredible culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes. In the end, South Adventure Peru Tours wasn’t simply the company that organized our tours. The team became part of the stories and memories we brought home with us. There were many kilometers of hiking, plenty of altitude, some very tired legs 😂, unbelievable landscapes, and an arrival at Machu Picchu that we’ll remember forever. A huge thank you to the entire South Adventure Peru Tours team, and especially to Rubens and Augusto, for being such great companions and making this adventure so special. We absolutely recommend them — and we hope to come back for another adventure in Peru! 🇵🇪❤️⛰️

    Cusco Region Tour

Our family and friends recently completed a trip to Cusco, Valle Sagrado, Machu Picchu, and the Salkantay region with South Adventure Peru Tours, and we had an excellent experience. Rubén and his team provided outstanding service from beginning to end. He leads a group of hardworking, responsible, and professional individuals who genuinely care about their guests and work hard to create a memorable experience. Our group included travelers ranging from 9 to 75 years old, and the team did a fantastic job accommodating the different needs, abilities, and interests of everyone. One thing we especially appreciated was Rubén's flexibility. As with any trip, a few things did not go exactly as planned, but he was always receptive, responsive, and willing to make adjustments on the fly to ensure our group remained comfortable and enjoyed the experience. That level of attention and customer service made a big difference. The guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely interested in helping us learn about the history, culture, and natural beauty of the region. Augusto is an excellent guide and Leo is a beautiful person. The transportation was safe and reliable throughout the trip, and the accommodations were comfortable and appropriate for the value of the tour. Overall, South Adventure Peru Tours exceeded our expectations and helped create an unforgettable experience in Peru. We highly recommend Rubén and his team to anyone looking to explore Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the surrounding regions. We would not hesitate to travel with them again in the future. Thank you, Rubén and the entire South Adventure Peru Tours team, for a wonderful adventure!

5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5 Days 4 Nights Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
