- The Kruger National Park’s climate remains quite warm and hot in the summer months (Nov – February) and fairly consistent through-out the year with temperatures only dropping in the early morning and late evenings, especially in the winter months (June – August). We suggest you pack light colored clothing, avoid white as it will show dirt faster, fabrics like cotton is preferable in the heat. We suggest you pack:
- 3-4 Cotton t-shirts / blouses, 3-4 Shorts (try to avoid denim and nylon), Long sleeve shirt and trousers, Lightweight wind breaker waterproof jacket, Fleece jacket or jersey, A good pair of hiking shoes (especially of you plan to do bush walks), A good hat / cap & Sunglasses, Swimming attire & Towel, Open sandals / shoes (preferably with rubber soles for walking in camp) and 1 set of smart clothes ( in the event you want to attend a dinner or event)
- This trip is all inclusive. We do suggest you bring appropriate clothing to fit the season (please see what should I wear for details) A good novel is a must as you do have free time as well as the items listed below:
- Camera (charger, batteries, memory cards), Binoculars (with bag for dust protection), Lightweight Flashlight / Torch (LED is best), Mosquito and Insect Repellent, Sunscreen (we recommend SPF 30+ as the African sun burns) and Day backpack (to carry snacks, water, books etc.

Amazing experience!
We had an amazing 5 days Kruger Safari with Shinzelle and especially with our ranger / guide Jeffrey. We could see not just the big 5 but ….. the 7 magnificents! Our guide made it so especial. He knew absolutely everything about animals’ behavior…. and with a great sense of humor. Always on time and always ready to go a bit further seeking for the animals. If we ever go back to Kruger we’ll repeat with Shinzelle and Jeffrey.

Not booked in to the camp quoted and paid for.
We had a great time, but that was down to our driver and guide VJ who was sub-contracted by Shinzelle. I found Danielle to be responsive on communication but after getting and paying for a 5 day trip at Satara, our guide informed us that we were not booked to stay there at all. There had been no mention of moving camps prior to this though an email had mentioned "showing us" both the centre and southern areas of Kruger. We ended up at Letaba and Olifants. The accomdation (rondel) at Letaba was clean and all facilities were provided but I can't say I found the viewing great. Enjoyed the dinners in the evening. The viewing was better around Olifants, but the accomodation was awful and I would not recommend anyone stay in this dump. Door locks broken, toilets and showers stank, no power to fridge at all, no cutlery or crockery for use. For the last two days of our trip VJ drove us down near Satara (where we had originally been told we were staying). There was more game in general and actual herds of animals (zebra, buffalo, wildebeest,etc). On the last day and a half (near Satara) we saw leopards, cheetahs, lions and wild dogs of which there was not a hint of at the other camps. We had a great Safari(thanks to VJ) and would go back to Kruger but would be unlikely to book with Shinzelle, due to being moved from Satara to areas with less game and accomodation that is not fit for use.

The best Kruger Experience Ever
I had the best trip to Kruger with Shinzelle Safaris. Everything was taken care of for me. Someone picked me up from the airport, took me to Hazyview for a transfer to another vehicle that took me to the Windmill Country Retreat. Then they took care of us the whole time we were there until it was time to repeat the trip back to the airport. Our guides were top notch. They took us into the park and were pretty good at avoiding the crowds and getting us a more intimate experience with the animals. We saw the Big Five within the first two trips, and each subsequent trip was just us getting better pictures of the animals. It was a blast. When we weren't in the park, we had a nice little cottage to unwind in. Each evening, they cooked a great dinner for us. They were even able to do laundry for us, allowing us to pack even lighter for our trip. Sadly, we didn't have any monkey visitors to see, but we did have a nice little Dik Dik eating outside our cottage one evening. All in all, if you're thinking of visiting Kruger, use Shinzelle Safaris. Everyone was nice and more than willing to do whatever was necessary to give us the best trip we could get.

Great hospitalty, good food and excellent game viewing safaris!
We did the 5 day Kruger Park/Panorama tour and had a fantastic experience. From the outset Danny and her enthusiastic team made us feel welcome and ready to enjoy our stay. Rooms were comfortable and clean, with tea/coffee provided. Our main safari guide, Jay, was passionate and knowledgible about his job and we often went off the main roads to find exciting spotting opportunities. We were rewarded with seeing a number of rare wild dogs right next to us, as well as eyeballing 2 large rhino a few meters from us! After returning at about 3 pm we could enjoy the peaceful Windmill Retreat gardens before gathering for a tasty homemade dinner--2nd helpings available too! On my wife's big birthday, they even made a lovely cake to celebrate--a very nice gesture and reflects Shinzelles' commitment to excellent customer service--we can highly recommend Shinzelle Safaris if you want a value for money, professional and well organized game safari experience.

A unique experience with an excellent staff
We chose Shinzelle for our first safari both for the great reviews we had read and for the great value for money. Never a better choice. Communicating with them before the departure was simple and friendly, we always related with Danielle who was clear, helpful and kind (and we are a little anxious so we filled her with lots of questions). We chose the 5-day package with scenic tour and stayed at Windmill Lodge (about 30 minutes from Phabeni Gate). However, after the first full day at Kruger, we decided to replace the scenic tour with a full day of safaris. Our guide for 3 days was Kyro. We were thrilled to have him because with sympathy, kindness and expertise he accompanied us to discover the Kruger. With his experience and the respect that binds them to the other guides in the park, we were able to see all the Big 5 with more than one sighting per species. I highly recommend doing more days, not so much to see as many animals as possible, but more because after the first day you will regret not having done more. The safari is a wonderful experience and supported by a team like Shinzelle is a guarantee of excellent quality. Breakfast is done in one of the camps inside the park (the breakfast basket is very good and plentiful), as is lunch. The guide always has water available for those who are thirsty. The dinner at Windmill was buffet style and every night we ate different foods and always great. In conclusion, I highly recommend Shinzelle to anyone who wants to have a real safari experience in full respect of animals and nature. And if you happen to have Kyro as your guide know that you are playing it safe because he is competent, nice, respectful and absolutely non-invasive towards animals. The latter is a quality that we personally appreciated a lot and that, as you will see, is not common to all the guides in the park. Elena and Riccardo
