Super!

We were very happy with our trip organized by Home to Africa. The communication was great from the start and they really adapted the travel plan according to our wishes. The accommodation were nice and clean, food plentiful and tasty and the programme was rich and packed with adventure. We were very happy also with our guide, Benon, who took particular care that we always felt comfortable. He would explain to us a lot about wildlife and Ugandan culture. He was very friendly and acommodating, never a problem to stop for pictures and he was open also to adapting the programme on the go and make stops on the road if we saw something interesting. Great experience and highly recommend him! Also a side note - Uganda is ebola free and completely safe to visit. Even if there would be an outbreak, the agency and the driver take precautions and make sure you are always in a safe environment with great hygienic standards. You can see the collective efforts of all Ugandan tourist sector on this part.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your trip with Home to Africa and that Benon made your experience special. It was truly a pleasure having you with us, and we greatly appreciate your trust and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Uganda for another unforgettable adventure! Warm regards, The Home to Africa Team

I highly recommend Home to Africa Tours, ask for Kareem.

The 5 day Safari was amazing! This was my first time to Africa and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My guide, Kareem, was very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. Kareem made me feel very comfortable. All three lodges I stayed at were beautiful and comfortable. Everyone was very welcoming and the food was delicious. I got to see rhinos, giraffes, lions, chimpanzees, a leopard and many more animals. The boat ride on the Nile River was beautiful. I highly recommend Home to Africa Tours, ask for Kareem.

Response from the operator: We’re so glad your first trip to Africa turned into such an amazing experience! Kareem will be thrilled to know he made you feel comfortable and supported throughout your journey. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the lodges, the food, and the incredible wildlife — from rhinos and lions to that special Nile River boat ride. Thank you for recommending Home to Africa; we’d be excited to welcome you back for even more adventures!

Amazing time in Uganda

Derrick was an excellent and proactive tour guide. He went above and beyond to make sure that we had an AMAZING experience, seeing all there is to see: jaguars, lions, elephants, hippos, etc. He also told us very interesting facts about Ugandan culture that opened our eyes (: I only dock a star because I wish that there were more expectations set per day. Sometimes it felt like we were getting into the van but weren't being briefed all the way about what was happening.

Response from the operator: We’re so happy to hear that Derrick made your safari an amazing experience and shared his knowledge of Uganda’s wildlife and culture. Your feedback about setting daily expectations is very helpful, and we’ll work on improving this for future guests. Thank you for choosing Home to Africa and for sharing your thoughts — we hope to welcome you back for another incredible adventure!

A 9 day Trip in Uganda with Home to Africa

I completed a 9-day tour in Uganda with "Home to Africa" in July 2025. First of all, my contacts with the agency (Elias and Hedmond) were very friendly and very professional. The trip program was perfectly respected, the lodges were nice and clean. My guide BENON was super pleasant, competent and very helpful, he never refused my requests and on several occasions we had extended days because I am passionate about animals and nature. He was full of little attentions during my stay. He is a very nice person, I highly recommend him! My tour where I had exciting experiences: trekking with chimpanzees, gorillas and golden monkeys, safaris at Queen Elizabeth N.P and MBuro N.P and a short stay on Itambira Island at Lake Bunyonyi where I met wonderful people (Sally). A big THANK YOU to BENON and Home to Africa!

Response from the operator: We’re so happy to hear your 9-day tour of Uganda was full of exciting wildlife and memorable experiences! Benon will be excited to know his care and attention made such a difference, and we’re glad Elias and Hedmond helped make the planning smooth. Thank you for choosing Home to Africa, we truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for more incredible adventures!

Unforgettable Safari Experience – 5 Stars All the Way!

We were a group of four friends, and this 5-day safari with Home to Africa was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we were picked up in Entebbe, every detail was well-organized and seamless. The team went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, safe, and always having fun. Each day brought new adventures – horseback riding with zebras and giraffes in Lake Mburo, chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu Forest, spotting tree-climbing lions in Ishasha, and the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi. The landscapes were breathtaking, the wildlife encounters were magical, and the memories we made will last a lifetime. Special thanks to our guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made every moment feel personalized. The accommodations were cozy and authentic, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the trip. Highly recommend Home to Africa if you're looking for an authentic, budget-friendly, and adventure-filled safari in Uganda. Truly the trip of a lifetime – we laughed, we explored, and we bonded like never before!

Response from the operator: What a joy to read about your 5-day adventure! It’s wonderful that the safaris, gorilla trekking, and all the activities made such lasting memories. Your guide will be thrilled to hear how much you appreciated his knowledge and friendly attention, and we’re glad the accommodations and thoughtful touches added to the experience. Thank you for recommending Home to Africa — we’d love to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey!

5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kampala.

How much does 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking cost?

+

Prices start at $1817 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kampala usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking take?

+

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kampala is not rushed.

Is 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Kampala, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking?

+

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kampala can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kampala and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5-Day Big 5 Safari to Murchison and Chimpanzee Tracking start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kampala within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kampala?

+

On Outty we rank every Kampala experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kampala Heart of Walking Adventure, Half day Kampala City Motor Bike Tours, Full Day Whitewater Rafting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kampala?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kampala?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
