Great Day in Ketchikan
We had a great day visiting Ketchikan. Our guide, Leon was very knowledgeable. He did a wonderful job navigating the tour to be “just ahead” of the crowds so we got the best viewing and made great use of the time we had. He took group pictures for us that turned out amazing. He spotted wildlife we would certainly have missed on our own. The vehicle was a bit older - but was comfortable and had everything we needed for our group of 11. I would recommend this tour.

Arrive 1/2 hour early. ...
Arrive 1/2 hour early. Driver never showed. Called the provider but got voicemail. Very disappointing.
Response from the operator: This tour was booked via a travel agent. Who did not give correct detail of actual clients traveling. I was at the pickup location 45 minutes before tour start time. I sent picture of where I was stood at cruise ship port. I gave a full description of what I looked like and where I was stood. I had a sign with your travel party name on it. I called and text the number given on the booking with no answer or response. So after tour start time passed it was reported to Viator as a no show. Only after that did the travel agent respond to Viator messages and by this time it was well past tour time. FYI - If you book with Viator and use a travel agent please make sure they give the tour company the correct information. I will be leaving the same review for the travel agency, This is why companies are starting to get away from using Viator.

Poor communication
Communications with the provider was very poor. Even after the tour was paid I received no communication with the provider at all as I’ve had when booking with other companies such as GetYourGuide. I needed to contact the provider regarding the pick up location and even after multiple attempts to contact them via phone, text message, emails they did not respond until 10 minutes before pick up and then they were 30 minutes late picking us up. The tour itself was okay, our driver/guide Leon was very good at getting us to the main spots before the rest of the crowds and was very helpful taking pictures for our group.
Response from the operator: I am very sorry but all our communication is through Viator messenger and we have no messages from you. Direct contact is something we dont do due to Viator contracts and regulations. I checked the booking and the pickup location was selected on booking and time was correct. I am very sorry about this. please reach out so I can offer a gift rom us to say sorry.

Wildlife and history tour
Leon was our guide. He is very knowlegable and knows the best spots for finding the wildlife. He is native to ketchikan and knows the area as well as anyone. We saw bears, eagles and seals. Unfortunately we were a week early to see the salmon running but had a great time searching and also taking in the old town. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you.
