BEWARE - they do not allow you to wear sunscreen!

We just went on this tour on April 2nd. The snorkeling itself was pretty cool. We saw tropical fish and 2 nurse sharks at the first reef area, massive starfish at the second area, and rays at the third area. Very cool. I would book the tour with a different company though. The issues: 1. When we arrived at port, our instructions just said to find the guide in their white Maybe tours shirt. We could not find anyone. After looking around and trying to figure it out for 20 minutes, we learned that we probably had to take a taxi to a different marina. We did so, and luckily it worked out. Had we not left our cruise ship early, we would have been late to the tour and missed it. 2. After checking in, we started to put sunscreen on. It was Blue Lizard reef safe mineral sunscreen. They would not allow us to put any sunscreen on. They argued that it would ruin the reef. I want to do my part to protect the reef of course, which is why I bought reef safe sunscreen. They said it's not regulated and that they're trying to change people's mindset about sunscreen - that no one needs it! Ridiculous. They need to either tell you about this when you book, or provide one of the few sunscreens for you that they deem safe. I believe the ones on this list are what they're looking for, but you'll have to confirm with Maybe Tours beforehand: https://savethereef.org/about-reef-save-sunscreen.html We are a family of very white people and we NEED sunscreen to not burn. They need to either provide the right sunscreen, or tell you during booking their exact requirements. They did none of this though. They didn't even offer the correct sunscreen for sale at their office. 3. The tour was quite serious. Only a couple jokes, not entertaining, and the guide spent lots of time yelling at us to stay close to him in the water. Wouldn't let us go more than like 15-20 ft from him. 4. They advertised this tour for kids, but the guide was not great with kids. Too serious. Not fun. And the snacks they provided were beer and ceviche. They had no kid-friendly snacks. Other tours we're providing fresh fruit and other food snacks.

Rays, stars and turtles, OH MY!

Great experience! Saw an eagle ray, sea stars, fish and a sea turtle. Cool to have sting rays swim right up to you. Enjoyed the tour very much! Gaspar and Filip and Natty did a fantastic job!

    Wonderful snorkel adventure

Great tour of Palancar and Columbia Reefs, and El Cielito. Christian was patient, safety-minded, and fun. We saw all kinds of fish, also rays and a nurse shark, and, of course, the starfish. Wonderful afternoon!

Best guide you could ask for, incredible experience!

This was our first snorkeling experience. Our main guide was AMAZING. He was so friendly and fun. As soon as we got to the first location and I jumped in, I had what I think was a panic attack, which has never happened to me before and took me by complete surprise. I instantly forgot the signal to use to notify him I needed help, but he spotted me from a ways and immediately came over. He stayed with me and my husband the entire time, helping us, fixing my goggles, letting me use the flotation device, etc until I was ready to let go. Without that, the whole experience would've been ruined for me. Because of his professionalism and thoughtfulness, I was able to calm my breathing and finally go out on my own. Once I did, it was the greatest experience of my life! Our guide truly made us feel safe and well taken care of the entire time. There were a few times I almost got mixed up with other groups, but he was on top of it and kept us together. The underwater photographer that took pictures and offered them at the end was a GREAT surprise. We had the most amazing time.

Wonderful to see my sisters do this for the first time! I love the smaller boats and less people. None of us eat ceviche, that’s why the four star rating We would definitely go again with these people

4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.

How much does 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.

Is 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4 Hour Snorkeling Tour in Cozumel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cozumel?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cozumel?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cozumel?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
