About this experience

The Cenotes are impressive natural formations. A cenote is formed when it filters the acid rainwater through cracks in the limestone rock that dissolves the soft areas of the rock. Over time, covered underground caverns are formed. Some can be quite big. This place is an exotic and relaxing paradise in the jungle of Riviera Maya. This ecological destination envelops the senses of its visitors with its impressive bodies of water and the soft murmur of its jungle. A fascinating beach whose depth is barely half a meter, where you can practice sports ranging from diving, to the kayak, because there are almost no waves and the sun gives it a crystalline sense. Its clear waters are perfect for swimming and venturing to dive in the nearby reef patches.

Amazing Experience with our Awesome Tour Guide!

Our family of four had an amazing time on our trip! First off, this was our only excursion where we were picked up right at the doorstep of our hotel in playa. What a great start! Mr. Oliver, our tour guide, was so awesome! He shared information about the history of the Yucutan and its people on the way to the cenotes. Once at the cenote site, Oliver took care of everything for us and was an amazing guide to all the different cenotes. He was able to capture great footage of our family enjoying the many special moments at each spot and also along the paths through the jungle. Once we finished at the cenotes, Oliver made sure we all had water or cerveza:) and we we headed to the very authentic taco stand on the way to the beach location. The tacos were delicious and it was defintely something we would have not been able to enjoy had we been on our own without Oliver to help us order since we were very limited in our Spanish. The only knock against the whole experience would be that the beaches in the Playa-Tulum area are not the greatest right now due to the very bad seaweed problem. But the beach club service was excellent (perhaps the best fruit margaritas I have ever had!)! It is not the fault of the tour company or the beach club that the beaches were so bombarded by the seaweed, so I still say 5 stars for this experience!

Feedback like yours motivates us to keep giving our best in every tour and service. We hope to see you again soon for another adventure! 🌴✨

Definitely recommend Katun Chi

We enjoyed experiencing the cenotes with a great guide at Katun Chi. We swam and used the kayaks in the cenotes. The lunch included with our tour was really fresh and delicious. Our family enjoyed the whole experience.

4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.

How much does 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen cost?

+

Prices start at $154 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.

Is 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen?

+

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4 Different Cenotes & Beach from Playa del Carmen start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?

+

On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
